📢 SEMINAR ANNOUNCEMENT
Digital Responsibility in the Era of Industry 5.0: Challenges and Perspectives
How do we balance the rapid integration of artificial intelligence and automation with human autonomy, ethics, and environmental sustainability?
Join us for an insightful talk with Prof. Olga Battaïa as she explores the emerging concept of digital responsibility in Industry 5.0—moving beyond technical performance to address the true social and environmental costs of industrial transformation.
📅 Quando / When: Martedì 5 ottobre 2026 – ore 15:30
📍 Dove / Where: Aula Seminari del DIMEG, cubo 44c, piano ponte intermedio
🎙️ Speaker: Prof. Olga Battaïa (KEDGE Business School)
💡 About the Talk:
The growing integration of AI, collaborative robots (cobots), digital twins, autonomous decision-making, and data-driven optimization into industrial environments raises critical questions concerning:
Ethics & Governance: Accountability, transparency, privacy, cybersecurity, fairness, human autonomy, and the future of work.
Environmental Footprint: Energy consumption of computing infrastructures, rapid obsolescence of electronic equipment, extraction of critical raw materials, and e-waste generation.
Rather than viewing digital responsibility as a constraint on innovation, this seminar proposes it as the foundation for building trustworthy, human-centered, environmentally sustainable, and resilient industrial ecosystems. It challenges the assumption that greater digitalization automatically leads to greater sustainability, advocating instead for a full lifecycle assessment of digital technologies.
