The only problem about the people I look up to is that they leave me heartbroken.
Anyway, we need to be more loud about the people that are worth our attention.
I mean, we can even scream the name DOLLY PARTON as a point in an argument.

September is a new start and when it comes to wishes, the Greeks we take it maybe...a little far. 😜

I mean ok we have some basics like καλή όρεξη (kalì òreksi=have a good appetite) when our food is on the table, or καλή αρχή (kalì archì=have a good start) when someone makes a new beginning in their life, but we can take it very far like wishing someone even when they buy new shoes!

👌✨✨My favourite wish in Greek is "καλή πρόοδο" (kalì pro-odo=have good progress).

We say it to kids the first days of the school year.

Or καλή σχολική χρονιά (kalì s-cholikì chronià=have a good school year).

Καλή πρόοδο means have good progress in what you are learning. We say it to kids, but why not start saying this also to adults of any age too??

The world , fortunately, has changed and many people today learn something new during their whole life span. Skills and hobbies is what take us far and learning is not something we can finish.

Living under this value will help us live more than one life.

I wish "καλή πρόοδο" to you, the person who has decided to take up something new in order to create a better self and a better future.

I wish "καλή πρόοδο" to you, the person who will keep on working on the self you have started creating the previous years

Either you are learning Greek, for any reason you want to learn Greek or any language or any other skill, start walking or anything tha will help you live a better everyday life, reading books, I wish you kalì prò-otho, my friend.

Learning is not a luxury or a privilege, it is the habit that creates a better future for you, it is an action that will probably help you escape.

And never be apologetic about it (I 'm saying this "just in case").

You are creating yourself.

Extra love to my students that made my day today with their brilliant results from the exams of Ellinomatheia in May, with 100% success.

Work when no one is watching+ love+ patience always gives results.

There are some days during the lessons, there are some times that language really limits the way I want to say something.

How can you describe the Greek actresses and the Greek actors of the golden era 1960-1970?

I remember once I got offended with a student, because when I told her "We love our actors and actresses" she told me "I didn't know the Greeks loved showbiz so much, I thought you were different".

I think this was a good lesson for me and her that day. I think we both learnt something from my explosion. 💥

The words are limiting.

Especially today, that a whole era is coming to an end and we really need to find the way to express it to the younger people who carry this heritage or they want to learn about it and give it to them the way it was given to us.

Can we?
Are we able to do it?

How can someone find the words to describe Màro Kondoù?

Maybe we can't.

Maybe this isn't even our role.

Maybe the only thing we can do is to teach the language she spoke and let the student find their way.

I hope they will.

Màro Kondoù.

Summer has come and some of you will visit Greece and will try to practice your Greek while in the country.

This is a friendly reminder that you have nothing to prove to anyone.

Do your best, insist, help your brain work with things you see and hear around,take this opportunity to improve and work on yourself, but ignore any kind of negativity (someone''s comment or anything) , like the average voter ignores corruption and the destruction of your country.

Learning is a personal thing.
You don't have to prove anything to anyone.

It doesn't look like this, but it is mostly an introvert hobby.

Find your center, focus inside yourself and create a beast that has nothing to prove, to no one. ❤️

And most importantly, enjoy the moments you give to yourself.

A group of Athenians asked the popular sculptor Phedias to create a sculpture of Goddess Athenà for her temple in the Acropolis. Her name was "Athenà from Limnos".

The original statue graced her Temple of the Acropolis in the 5th century (451- 447 BCE) and was created from marble from the mountain of Penteli.

The original statue didn't survive the dark side of the human nature. She was completely destroyed so we cannot see her today.

BUT, there is also the bright side of the Human Nature!

We are lucky that a Greek sculptor had created an identical copy during the Roman Era (1st century BCE), so now we can see her this way.

It is said that this copy is the most faithful in terms of beauty and quality.

She is in the Archaeological Museum of Bologna, Italy.

Η ΚΑΤΑΔΙΚΗ ΤΗΣ ΒΟΡΕΙΑΣ ΕΥΒΟΙΑΣ ΗΤΑΝ ΠΡΟΔΙΑΓΕΓΡΑΜΜΈΝΗ!!!

Η ΑΛΗΘΕΙΑ ΤΗΣ 1ης ΦΕΒΡΟΥΑΡΙΟΥ ΚΑΙ Η ΚΛΗΡΟΝΟΜΙΑ ΨΑΡΡΟΥ (2011)!
​Πέρασαν χρόνια. Η εποχή των υποσχέσεων τελείωσε.

​Ο πρώην Δήμαρχος, κ. Ανέστης Ψαρρός, είχε τότε μια ξεκάθαρη θέση: Το Natura 2000 ήταν το «ΕΜΠΟΔΙΟ»!

​Μας είπε ότι η ένταξη του Δέλτα Κηρέως και της Κοιλάδας Προκοπίου στο δίκτυο προστασίας θα οδηγούσε σε «ΚΑΤΑΣΤΡΟΦΗ» και ότι έπρεπε να «λυθούν τα δεσμά» για να βρει ο τόπος τον «βηματισμό» του προς την ανάπτυξη‼️

Μια θέση που ήταν ευθέως αντίθετη στις προτάσεις προοδευτικών δυνάμεων της περιοχής, όπως το kireas.org.

​Και τώρα, κύριε Ψαρρέ, που είναι ο «βηματισμός» σας;

​Σήμερα, η περιοχή δεν βρίσκεται απλώς σε στασιμότητα – είναι ένα ζωντανό μνημείο οπισθοδρόμησης και οικολογικής φθοράς.
• ​Οι «νέες θέσεις εργασίας» που θα ανθούσαν; Άφαντες.
• ​Οι «μεγάλες επενδύσεις» που θα έρχονταν αφού φύγει η «ταφόπλακα» του Natura; Ανύπαρκτες.
• ​Το μόνο που «αναπτύχθηκε» είναι η φθορά, η εγκατάλειψη και η σιωπή πάνω από τα νερά του Κηρέα.
​Ο «βηματισμός» που υποσχεθήκατε αποδείχθηκε ένα ολίσθημα στο κενό.

​Η Μεγάλη Χαμένη Ευκαιρία & Το Οικολογικό Κόστος

​Η κριτική στάση σας απέναντι στο Natura 2000 όχι μόνο δεν έφερε την ανάπτυξη, αλλά ακύρωσε την πραγματική ευκαιρία που υποστήριζαν φωνές όπως ο kireas.org:

​Ο kireas.org υποστήριζε ότι η ένταξη στο Natura 2000 όχι μόνο δεν θα ήταν εμπόδιο, αλλά θα μπορούσε να σταθεί μοναδική ευκαιρία για την ανάπτυξη του πρωτογενούς τομέα του τόπου, καθώς θα δημιουργούνταν κίνητρα για την ανάπτυξη βιολογικής Γεωργίας/Κτηνοτροφίας, με τη διεκδίκηση αντίστοιχων κονδυλίων από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση.

​Στην προσπάθειά σας να κερδίσετε μια ανάπτυξη-φάντασμα που δεν ήρθε ποτέ, καταφέρατε να μηδενίσετε την πραγματική αξία του τόπου και, χειρότερα, να την οδηγήσετε σε αρνητικό πρόσημο.

• ​ΤΟ ΠΛΑΤΑΝΟΔΑΣΟΣ: Το περιβαλλοντικό κεφάλαιο της Κοιλάδας Προκοπίου έχει αφανιστεί. Η έλλειψη θεσμικής προστασίας άνοιξε το δρόμο σε άναρχες παρεμβάσεις της Περιφέρειας και των Δήμων, καταδικάζοντας ένα από τα σημαντικότερα οικοσυστήματα του τόπου.

​Η Κληρονομιά Σας:
• ​ΜΗΔΕΝ (0) Πραγματική Ανάπτυξη.
• ​ΜΕΙΟΝ Έναν (-) Περιβαλλοντικό Παράδεισο.
• ​ΜΕΙΟΝ Ένα (-) Κατεστραμμένο Πλατανόδασος.
• ​ΜΕΙΟΝ Μία (-) Χαμένη Ευκαιρία Ευρωπαϊκής Χρηματοδότησης.
​Ο περιβαλλοντικός έλεγχος που εσείς αποκαλέσατε «δεσμά» ήταν η μόνη ελπίδα του τόπου. Η δική σας επιλογή να τον απορρίψετε δεν ήταν απλώς μια λάθος εκτίμηση.
Ήταν μια πράξη περιβαλλοντικής αμέλειας και στρατηγικής τύφλωσης που άφησε τον Κηρέα ανυπεράσπιστο να χαθεί.

​Αυτή η επιλογή, που βασίστηκε σε μια αβέβαιη υπόσχεση για γιγάντωση των στατιστικών, απέτυχε να φέρει τα προσδοκώμενα αποτελέσματα. Δείξατε έλλειψη εναλλακτικής στρατηγικής και εμπιστοσύνης στην πραγματική, περιβαλλοντική αξία του τόπου, με αποτέλεσμα σήμερα να βρισκόμαστε στο ίδιο ακριβώς σημείο μηδέν, έχοντας χάσει και το κεφάλαιο που ήδη είχαμε.

Στον Κυμασιώτη και στον Κηρέα δεν έχει μείνει σχεδόν ούτε ένα πλατάνι. Το μεταχρωματικό έλκος τα κατέστρεψε όλα. Στη θέση τους εξαπλώνεται ο αείλανθος (βρωμοκαρυδιά), ένα ξενικό είδος που δεν αφήνει τίποτα άλλο να μεγαλώσει.
Χωρίς δέντρα, τα ποτάμια μένουν απροστάτευτα.

Έχουμε ήδη στείλει αιτήματα σε Δήμο , Περιφέρεια , Δασαρχείο με αριθμούς πρωτοκόλλου .
Ζητάμε άμεση μελέτη και άμεση δεντροφύτευση πριν να είναι αργά.
