We are pleased to invite you to attend to the 6th International Symposium on Animal Functional Genomics (ISAFG 2015), which will be held in Italy from the 27th to the 29th of July, 2015. The 2015 Symposium builds on the success of previous ISAFG meetings held in Guarujá, Brazil (2013), Dublin (2011), Edinburgh (2008) and Michigan State University (2003 and 2006). For the first time in Italy, ISAFG
will welcome academic researchers and industry representatives from all over the world who wish to share knowledge on the leading-edge developments involving functional genomics and its application on animal health and production. We especially encourage young scientists and graduate students to attend. The symposium venue will be held at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Piacenza, close to the mountains , food and wine of “Colli Piacentini” and 70 km from the city of Milano which is hosting the EXPO 2015 global fair during ISAFG 2015. After the endeavour of sequencing the whole genome of all major species, livestock research is facing new challenges: to understand the function of genes and the control of their expression; their interaction with nutrients and the environment; the understanding protein and metabolite networks; and the role of the microbiota on animal health and production. The purpose of ISAFG 2015 is to bring together academic researchers, industry representatives and policy makers to exchange knowledge on the leading-edge developments in functional genomics and its applications in the livestock sector.
