The in Turkey and Syria shows the importance of protecting rescuers in case of aftershocks. Femke Mulder, postdoctoral research fellow at Anglia Ruskin University, wrote an article about what can be done, mentioning the system developed within the project as an example.

Rescuers are at risk from aftershocks and collapsing buildings, but scientists are working on systems that will minimise ths danger.
