🌿 7th STITCH Webinar | Green Alliances: How School–Organization Partnerships Drive Change

How can schools, green organizations and local authorities work together to create lasting change?

Join us on Tuesday, 10 November, at 16:00 CET for the final webinar in the STITCH series: a cycle of seven webinars, one hosted in each partner country. Across the previous webinars, more than 300 teachers and other school staff have taken part.
This session will explore a practical model of collaboration between schools, organizations and municipalities to support urban sustainability. Discover how schools can become active hubs for local ecological transition, moving environmental education beyond textbooks and into hands-on climate action.

Through the Erasmus+ project STITCH (2025-1-IT02-KA220-SCH-000353351), the webinar will share practical tools, teaching approaches and opportunities to build connections. It will also show how sustainable fashion and STEAM can bring scientific thinking, creativity, digital literacy and civic responsibility into the classroom.

Hosted by our Estonian partner Tallinna Kesklinna Vene Gümnaasium, the webinar featured Anneli Roodus from the Tallinn Circular Economy Centre and Anne-Liisa Antsma, a teacher at the partner school. Together, they explored how to introduce circular economy principles to young people and support them in making more conscious choices.

The webinar is part of WP2 of the Erasmus+ project STITCH, whose international series has reached around 300 teachers and other participants.

🌍 From Awareness to Action: Engaging Young People in the Circular Economy

On 6 October, we held the sixth webinar in the STITCH series, hosted by our Estonian partner Tallinna Kesklinna Vene Gümnaasium.

Together with Anneli Roodus, environmental education specialist at the Tallinn Circular Economy Centre, we explored how circular economy principles can be explained to young people and connected to their everyday choices.

The discussion also brought together the perspectives of environmental education and schools, highlighting how practical activities and cooperation can help young people build curiosity, think critically and take action for a more sustainable future.
The webinar is part of WP2 of STITCH, an Erasmus+ project co-funded by the European Union. Across the international webinar series, around 300 teachers and other participants have joined the conversation on sustainability and innovative approaches to education.

🌿 Meet our speaker: Anne-Liisa Antsma!

We are delighted to introduce another speaker of the sixth STITCH international webinar, “From Awareness to Action: Engaging Young People in the Circular Economy.”

Anne-Liisa Antsma is a teacher at Tallinn Kesklinna Vene Gümnaasium and the organiser of the upcoming webinar.

Working directly with young people in education, she is interested in integrating sustainability, circular economy principles and conscious consumption into learning experiences.

During the webinar, Anne-Liisa will share her perspective as an educator and contribute valuable insights into how these topics can be made relevant and engaging for young people.

🌿 Meet our speaker: Anneli Roodus!

We are delighted to introduce the speaker of the sixth STITCH international webinar, “From Awareness to Action: Engaging Young People in the Circular Economy.”

Anneli Roodus, Environmental Education Specialist at the Tallinn Circular Economy Centre, works at the intersection of environmental education, communication and creativity.

Through educational programmes, exhibitions, events and excursions, she helps make topics such as the circular economy, conscious consumption and environmental challenges clear, engaging and relevant for young people.

Anneli believes that environmental education should spark curiosity, encourage questions and inspire young people to take action. We look forward to learning from her experience!

The webinar will feature:

🌍🧵 STITCH in Amsterdam: learning, sharing and inspiring a more sustainable textile future! ♻️✨

From 22 to 29 August 2026, Prof. Dominique Persano Adorno, Professor at the University of Palermo (UNIPA) and Coordinator of the Erasmus+ STITCH Project, and Prof. Nicola Pizzolato, Principal of the ICS Maredolce -Associated Partner of the project- took part in the international course “Environmental Education: Learning and Acting for a Better Future”, organised by Europass Teacher Academy in Amsterdam. 🇳🇱🌱

A particularly special moment of the course was Wednesday, when an entire day was dedicated to the STITCH Project! 💚
Together with international educators, some of the most important challenges facing the textile sector today have been explored:
🌿 the environmental impact of textile production;
⚖️ ethical and social issues in the fashion industry;
♻️ circularity and responsible consumption;
🧠 smart and innovative materials for a more sustainable future;
🔬 how science, technology and education can help transform the way we design, produce and use textiles.

From innovative smart materials and functional textiles to sustainability and responsible choices, the discussions showed how education can play a key role in helping younger generations rethink the future of fashion. 👕🔬🌍 The inspiring ideas and experiences collected in Amsterdam will contribute to enriching the educational activities and resources developed within STITCH.

💚 Because the future of textiles starts with knowledge, innovation and awareness!
