A call for papers was announced for the symposium, Implementing Collaborative Governance: Models, experiences, and challenges to foster policy coordination and to enhance sustainable community outcomes and public value generation. The symposium, hosted by Prof. Carmine Bianchi at the University of Palermo (Italy), Department of Political Sciences – DEMS, will be held October 25-26, 2018. Preliminary full papers are due by May 21, 2018. The best papers presented at the symposium, will be eligible for possible publication in a special issue of the Public Management Review and of the Azienda Pubblica Journal. A number of papers will be also selected and proposed for submission to the Journal of Management and Governance by following a fast-track review process for publication. Lastly, accepted papers will also be eligible for publication in a book planned in the series System Dynamics for Performance Management, by Springer, on enabling collaborative governance through systems modeling methods. Society member Carmine Bianchi, Professor of Business and Public Management, University of Palermo, recently gave a talk at the Center for Technology in Government, University at Albany. Prof. Bianchi spent a week in residence as a Visiting Scholar at the Center, working on research proposals to link System Dynamics and systems thinking with public management outcome measures.
