Master of Arts in International Relations - University of Palermo

The Master of Arts in International Relations (LM-52), coordinated by Professor Luca Puddu, together with the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the University of Palermo, has been selected to participate in the 2026 Chengdu International Sister Cities Universities Youth Summer Camp, organized by Chengdu University of Technology and funded by the Chengdu Municipal Foreign Affairs Office.
Following an international call that brought together 40 applicants from several countries, Dr. Rita Daila Costa, researcher at the Department of Political Science and International Relations, and Dr. Nicoletta Patti, who holds a PhD in Systems Dynamics and is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, were selected as Young Scholars.
This participation reflects the long-standing collaboration between the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the University of Palermo and Chengdu University, established through the P*S (Project for International Students) Programme. Over the years, the programme has actively involved the Master of Arts in International Relations (LM-52), promoting international mobility, academic exchange, and intercultural dialogue.
The Summer Camp provided a valuable opportunity to further strengthen dialogue and cooperation among universities and institutions in the city of Chengdu. As a recognition of the academic and institutional partnership developed over the years with the University of Palermo, Dr. Rita Daila Costa was invited by the Chengdu Municipal Foreign Affairs Office to deliver the opening address at the inaugural ceremony.

👉Venerdì 26 giugno si è svolta la premiazione presso la Camera dei Deputati per il miglior talento universitario, da parte della Fondazione Italia USA.

🏆Siamo felici di comunicarvi che, a essere premiate, sono state Alisia Fuca e Gaia Cautela. Un traguardo importantissimo che darà loro l’opportunità di partecipare al Master in Leadership per le Relazioni Internazionali.

L'XI edizione dell'H&P Summer School, intitolata 'Politics After Tomorrow: teorie e istituzioni per il XXI secolo', si propone di interrogare criticamente una questione centrale: le istituzioni politiche che conosciamo sono ancora adeguate a governare la complessità del presente e del futuro prossimo? E, se lo sono solo parzialmente, quali trasformazioni sono necessarie per evitare derive di anarchia, caos e disgregazione del legame politico?

👉La scuola estiva affronta temi come la crisi delle democrazie contemporanee sempre più esposte a fenomeni di populismo, autoritarismo e svuotamento delle procedure rappresentative e l'impatto dell'intelligenza artificiale sui processi politici e decisionali, interrogandosi su come le istituzioni possano adattarsi senza perdere la loro funzione di garanzia, trasparenza e mediazione.

The 11th edition of the H&P Summer School, titled 'Politics After Tomorrow: Theories and Institutions for the 21st Century', aims to critically examine a central question: are the political institutions we know still adequate to govern the complexities of the present and the near future? And, if they are only partially so, what transformations are required to avert a slide into anarchy, chaos, and the disintegration of the political bond?

👉The summer school addresses themes such as the crisis of contemporary democracies—increasingly exposed to populism, authoritarianism, and the erosion of representative processes—and the impact of artificial intelligence on political and decision-making processes, exploring how institutions can adapt without losing their role in ensuring safeguards, transparency, and mediation.
