That’s a wrap on the Comic Relief final week in Greece! 🇬🇷

Over the past days, the project partners came together in Athens and Aegina to close our work on humour, creativity and youth mental wellbeing.

In Aegina, the Train-the-Trainers brought together youth workers, educators, psychologists, social workers and health professionals to explore how humour and creativity can become practical tools to support young people’s wellbeing, resilience and emotional connection. The week also included the presentation of the project’s results in Athens and the final project meeting.

We are leaving Greece with new methods, new connections and a shared commitment to keep this work alive. First day of the Comic Relief final week in Athens! 🇬🇷

On 6 October, the project partners met in Athens for a full day dedicated to humour, creativity and youth mental wellbeing.

In the morning, training sessions at the Institut Français de Grèce explored practical approaches for professionals working with young people. Promimpresa contributed with a session by Mario Barnaba, "From Safety to Humour: Resistance through relational play".

In the afternoon, on the occasion of European Carers Day, partners presented the project's results at the European Parliament Office in Greece, Promimpresa shared the work carried out within the project.

The week continues in Aegina with the Train-the-Trainers on Humour, Creativity & Youth Mental Wellbeing and the final project meeting.

🇪🇪 Estonia meets Sicily 🇮🇹 – Job Shadowing in Palermo!

This week we had the pleasure of welcoming Enn Pormeister from Tallinna Rakenduslik Kolledž to Palermo for an Erasmus+ Job Shadowing experience at Euroform Palermo – Scuola Professionale dei Mestieri.

The aim? To discover how vocational education, work-based learning, internships and cooperation with companies are organised here in Sicily – and to exchange ideas, experiences and good practices.

And well… let’s just say that vocational education in Sicily can sometimes be a slightly different world from what you might be used to in Estonia. 🙂🇮🇹 There was energy, noise, people everywhere, plenty of spontaneous moments and definitely never a boring minute! 😍

But that is exactly what international mobility is about.

It is not about travelling abroad to find exactly the same systems, working methods and environments that we already know. It is about stepping into someone else’s reality, seeing how things are done differently, asking questions, exchanging ideas and coming home with a completely new perspective.

A huge thank you to EUROFORM and everyone who welcomed us, opened their doors and showed us their everyday reality. ❤️

Different countries. Different approaches. Different realities.

And so much to learn from each other. 🌍🇪🇺

🇮🇹🇵🇱 ERASMUS+ IN GELA: TRAINING, EUROPE AND CULTURAL EXCHANGE

Today, a new Erasmus+ project officially began in Gela, welcoming 12 Polish students from the city of Ciechanów, Poland, from Zespół Szkół nr 3 im. Stanisława Staszica w Ciechanowie, specialising in Mechatronics.

For the next two weeks, the students will take part in work placements at local companies, giving them the opportunity to experience the Italian working environment, develop new professional skills and discover different working methods and approaches.

A heartfelt thank you to the companies in Gela that have welcomed our students and are contributing to their educational and professional experience:

Comic Relief is heading to Greece for its final week! 🇬🇷

The project partners are meeting in Athens and Aegina to share the results of our work on humour, creativity and youth mental wellbeing, and to train professionals who work with young people.

📍 6 October, Athens: final event at the European Parliament Office in Greece, on the occasion of European Carers Day, where partners will present the project results, including the Handbook for Educators.

📍 7 to 9 October, Aegina Island: a free Train-the-Trainers on Humour, Creativity & Youth Mental Wellbeing for youth workers, educators, psychologists, social workers, community practitioners and health professionals, followed by the final project meeting.

Promimpresa will contribute with a session on relational play as a bridge from safety to humour, and with the presentation of the project's results.

🎓 Another Erasmus+ mobility successfully completed in Palermo! 🇪🇺🇮🇹

We are happy to celebrate the completion of Heike Pettinen one-month traineeship in Palermo! 🌞

Heike joined us from the Tartu Ülikooli Pärnu kolledž / University of Tartu Pärnu College in Estonia 🇪🇪 and completed her practical experience at BB22 Charming Rooms BB22 Charming rooms & Apartments gaining valuable hands-on experience in an international hospitality environment.

A mobility experience is much more than a traineeship – it is an opportunity to develop professional skills, discover a new culture, build confidence and experience everyday life in another European country. 🌍✨

We would like to thank BB22 Charming Rooms for welcoming and supporting Heike throughout her placement, and University of Tartu Pärnu College for the trust and cooperation.

🔥 Tutelare i boschi dagli incendi: strumenti e proposte per una strategia vincente

Venerdì 25 settembre abbiamo partecipato, in rappresentanza del progetto europeo ENSURE, al convegno organizzato dall'Ordine degli Ingegneri della Provincia di Palermo con Raiexpert. L'incontro si è svolto nella splendida cornice dell'Abbazia Benedettina di San Martino delle Scale, a Monreale.

È stata una giornata ricca di spunti, con interventi di istituzioni, tecnici ed esperti:
1. I Vigili del Fuoco e la campagna antincendio boschiva
2. Il Corpo Forestale della Regione Siciliana e la Protezione Civile della Città Metropolitana di Palermo
3. Intelligenza artificiale e nuove tecnologie per il monitoraggio e la prevenzione
4. L'evoluzione delle norme
5. Il ruolo della cittadinanza attiva e delle risorse umane nella tutela del patrimonio forestale

Dal convegno è emerso un messaggio che Ensure Project condivide in pieno: la tecnologia da sola non basta, servono persone formate. Il progetto riunisce 20 partner di 9 Paesi e sviluppa percorsi di aggiornamento per vigili del fuoco e soccorritori su quattro aree: tecnologia, cooperazione tra enti, resilienza umana e coinvolgimento delle comunità.
L'obiettivo è prepararli ad affrontare incendi, alluvioni ed eventi climatici estremi.

Grazie all' Ordine degli Ingegneri della Provincia di Palermo, a RaiExpert Professionisti italiani, a tutti i relatori e all'Abbazia di San Martino delle Scale per l'ospitalità.
Porteremo in ENSURE le esperienze e i contatti nati in questa giornata. 💚

27 September, World Tourism Day 🌍
This year UN Tourism dedicates the day to "Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism". It is a theme close to our work: in Sicily and across the Mediterranean, tourism is carried by thousands of small and medium-sized businesses that face seasonality, crises and climate change every year.
For us, innovating tourism means putting digital tools and AI at the service of businesses and territories, in practical and sustainable ways. It is what we work on every day, including through the ReTour project.

Two weeks of learning, working and discovering Palermo!

We were happy to welcome 11 students from BTP CFA Orléans, France, who joined us in Palermo for their Erasmus+ work-based learning experience.

During their mobility, the students had the opportunity to gain practical experience in local companies and discover different working methods in their professional fields:

🏠 6 Roofing students
🪟 3 Installation Carpentry students
🪚 2 Manufacturing Carpentry student

From our first welcome meeting to their daily activities in the workplace, these two weeks were all about learning by doing, developing professional skills, adapting to a new environment and experiencing life and work in another European country.

A big thank you to all the local companies and professionals who welcomed the students and shared their time, knowledge and experience with them. 🤝

And of course, thank you to the students and BTP CFA Orléans for trusting us with this mobility!

We hope you return home with new skills, great memories and a little piece of Palermo with you. 💙
