🌊 A new milestone for TOFOLA

We are proud to share that our journey has reached a new landmark.

Throughout the project, we have sailed across waters and coastlines, mapping territories and tracing new routes along the way. Four key areas have emerged, where nature, culture, gastronomy and local communities come together to shape each place.

This work has helped us chart the course towards our goal: building a more sustainable and accessible tourism model, anchored in the identity of each territory.

From Istria to the Po Delta, from Carnia to Eastern Veneto, we are setting sail towards routes that respect heritage and nature—while opening new horizons for the future.

⚓ A new vessel is ready to meet the water, and you are all invited to join us in celebrating this milestone.

We invite you to join us for the Italian boat launching in Porto Levante (RO), Italy, on May 22, 2026.

In just a few weeks, one of the historic boats restored within TOFOLA will return to the water, marking a meaningful step in our journey toward more sustainable and accessible tourism.

This moment celebrates the new way we are shaping tourism together, connecting people with places and making heritage something to be experienced by everyone.

Through this restoration, tradition meets innovation. The historic knowledge of Serenissima shipbuilding is carried forward through new technologies, ensuring low-impact navigation, functional accessibility and an inclusive experience for all.

Even a single boat can become a gateway, enhancing the cultural and natural beauty of the Po Delta while respecting its delicate ecosystems and passing knowledge on to future generations.

⚓ After exploring the Livenza route on the ground, the journey continued around the table.

On 2 April, partners of the TOFOLA gathered for the 4th Partner and Steering Committee Meeting, aligning on progress and shaping the final phase of the project.

From technical developments to future actions, the discussion focused on:

– advancing boat prototypes and testing phases
– refining sustainable tourism models and strategies
– strengthening cross-border cooperation and knowledge exchange
– defining evaluation frameworks for accessibility, usability and user experience

Each discussion, each update, each shared insight contributes to turning ideas into concrete outcomes — from routes and prototypes to tourism experiences.
