The Arizona in Italy program works in collaboration with the University of Arizona and is an institution fully accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (Ministero dell'Istruzione, dell'Università e della Ricerca - MIUR). It offers study abroad programming for spring, summer and fall semesters, with a broad variety of courses, including the possibility to join an A
rchaeological excavation. There will be field trips, museum visits and independent study programs. Bios of Alba and Claudio:
Alba is the program manager in Orvieto since the beginning of the program in Fall 2012. Before becoming a part of the Arizona in Italy program she worked as an archaeologist. However, most of her
responsibilities include managing the program and
making sure it runs smoothly. She handles almost
everything you could need abroad, from paying your rent to calling a doctor when you are sick. Think of her as your Italian mother. She is always happy to help with whatever you need. Claudio is the professor in residence with the Arizona in Italy program. Previously he has taught Etruscan Art and Culture, Roman Art and Archaeology, Ancient Myth, Archaeological excavation, Food Wine and Culture, Methodology in Archaeological Excavation. Previously he was Researcher and Classics Professor at the universities of Macerata, Camerino, Fermo, Foggia,
field director at the Campo della Fiera excavation
Claudio usually will lead field trips or chaperone them. He is a very fatherly figure while you are abroad and has been a part of the Arizona in Italy program since 2002.
