On February. 17, eng. Amir Reza Safari has successfully defended his thesis on "Leveraging AI Techniques for Enhanced Traffic Data Collection at
Motorway Merging Areas“ and graduated summa cm laude. Professors Cino Bifulco and Angelo Coppola supervised his thesis from the Civil Engineering Department.

We admire Amir's ability to meet new, high-level challenges with autonomy and methodological rigour. The results obtained from his thesis are of excellent application to intelligent transportation systems and have already received additional recognition from scientific publications. We are sure that new important satisfactions will not fail to reward Amir for his dedication and professionalism.
We look forward to maintaining our connection with Amir and to continue our research collaboration.

Our alumni community has grown on Oct. 2: happy entering Tahseen!

On Oct. 2, eng. Tahseen Bashir successfully completed his thesis on “Evaluating the competition between high-speed rail and air using a non-cooperative game theoretical approach” and graduated with high honors. Professors Francesca Pagliara and Lina Mallozzi supervised his thesis from the Civil Engineering and Mathematics departments. Tahseen demonstrated exceptional dedication, seriousness, and ability to achieve his goals, and we are proud to have had the opportunity to guide him through this journey.

We look forward to maintaining our connection with Tahseen and engaging in meaningful conversations, sharing ideas, and exchanging experiences in the future.

MSc TEAM students of the 2024 intake can attend the welcome meeting for new Italian and international students at the Department of Civil, Building, and Environmental Engineering.
The meeting is next Oct. 9 at 5:30 p.m. near Building 8 at 21 Via Claudio, in the so-called "Gazebi Area."

Gli studenti MSc TEAM dell'anno 2024 possono partecipare all'incontro di benvenuto per i nuovi studenti italiani e internazionali del Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile, Edile e Ambientale.
L'appuntamento è il prossimo 9 ottobre alle 17.30 presso l'Edificio 8 di Via Claudio 21, nella cosiddetta “Area Gazebi”.

SAVE THE DATE - The University SUM (Smart and sUstainable Mobility) Task Force will present, together with the City, an innovative public engagement project to overcome the traditional relationship between the center and the suburbs and create polycentric systems starting with mobility. The involvement of associations, higher education institutions, and transportation companies in the project will be presented. The VI Municipality (San Giovanni, Barra, Ponticelli) is participating in the project. The Rector of Federico II will open the proceedings, and the Mayor of Naples, Gaetano Manfredi, will draw the conclusions of the proceedings.

I am happy to spread the news about the session dedicated to the National Center for Sustainable Mobility (CN MOST) that was held today in Rome at the Annual Conference of the Italian Society of Transportation Scholars (SIDT).

Professors Bifulco and Marzano, research nodes 7 and 10 coordinators, were present and represented the University of Naples Federico II and MSc TEAM.
