Goodbye Oslo, for now! 🇳🇴
While waiting to resume the digitization of the Kleve's Archive at the National Library of Oslo, over the past few weeks we have carefully examined, reorganized, and systematized the material. The archive is now accompanied by a newly updated catalogue, structured on a thematic basis to facilitate consultation and future research. 🗂️
In the second picture you can see the archive before and after the “restyling”: a small glimpse into the behind-the-scenes work 📚

Greetings from Oslo! 🇳🇴❄️
As part of our project on Epicurean theology, one of our activities is the study and digitization of Kleve's Archive, housed at the National Library of Norway.
Professor Knut Kleve devoted many years of his life to the study of the Herculaneum papyri, making a significant contribution to their interpretation and preservation.
Part of our group is now here to explore the contents of his archive: a rich and composite collection including hundreds of photographs, research notes, and some unpublished texts. 📚🎞📒
Through this work, we aim to preserve, study, and make accessible valuable materials that continue to shed light on Epicurean thought. More details soon!

One of the best parts of research? Sharing work in progress with others.
In today’s seminar, we discussed new readings and interpretations of Philodemus’ On Gods, Book 1, together with Marzia D'Angelo and colleagues from the Centro Internazionale per lo Studio dei Papiri Ercolanesi “Marcello Gigante". Grateful for the stimulating exchange that makes collaborative scholarship so rewarding!

Welcome to the official page of the FIS LACUNA project! 😊
📜 LACUNA is devoted to the study of the theological writings of the Epicurean philosopher Philodemus of Gadara, preserved in the Herculaneum papyri. By integrating advanced AI tools into the processes of textual reconstruction and interpretation, the project aims to open new paths in the understanding of ancient philosophy (Starting Grant FIS-2023-01833)
