Today, we've kicked off CARA!
CARA is a three-year multidisciplinary research project that investigates the social processes that produce care needs left unmet. CARA seeks to understand the risk factors, lived experiences, and everyday strategies adopted to cope with this condition in relation to different social and economic backgrounds.
CARA uses quantitative and ethnographic methods thanks to a team coordinated by an anthropologist (PI) and composed of gerontologists and sociologists from the Laboratorio Politiche Sociali at the Politecnico di Milano and the INRCA-IRCCS Institute in Ancona. The project is particularly timely for Italian society, not just for its population aging, but also for the exacerbation of social inequalities among groups and communities.
Thanks to all the team members and WP leaders: Francesco Diodati, Emma Garavaglia, Costanzo Ranci, Marco Socci, Giovanni Lamura, Georgia Casanova, Paolo Fabbri!
