An unforgetable night at the Conservatorio di Milano in 2010, I got to see Glen Hansard live. Just getting there was magic as there were no tickets, but life managed to get me there with beautiful sincronicities. I was mesmerized by the sheer raw emotion this man puts in his music and voice. And the film ‘Once’ literally marked a life turning moment for me.
After the concert I found out the girl who had that spare ticket actually knew him and we stepped in to say hello, I don’t think I have ever seen a public figure so down to earth and soulfully simply open with people. Life then took us together to a historic bar in Milan ‘Bar Magenta’ where he just stood there graciously and calmly drinking a beer watching a game on the bar TV. While all around movement and chaos happened. We had a conversation, short, simple, sweet and then he wrote me this.
“Smile - art will always love you… we are blessed with light - we must shine or die”
Those words for some years became a reminder of what I came to do here. Thank you Glen Hansard for your music, your soul, your raw unfiltered emotions, your humility. And do know, you did shine… you did shine.

No words to say how powerful, deep and humbling this year’s has been.
My prayers for my own life, for my beloved Venezuela homeland and for my own search of a place I can call home have been deep and full of every emotion possible.
All of this done in a land I deeply love and cherish each time I go. England. And to add to the magic of the dance, for the first time I was able to visit these ancient and powerful stones at Stonehenge and Avebury.
Gracias, gracias, gracias for all our heart meetings.
