Istituto Secoli continues its collaboration with Loro Piana for its students.
Guided by Loro Piana senior technicians, our students explored the mastery behind creating products of excellence, through a series of lessons dedicated to the prototyping of a cashmere double outerwear piece. Fabrics and collar construction — distinctive features of the Maison— offered Istituto Secoli’s young talents the opportunity to engage with iconic craftsmanship and refine their technical skills.

The 78th Graduation Ceremony was a moment of great emotion, joy and satisfaction for students, friends and family, who gathered to celebrate the milestone reached at the end of their studies at Secoli. It was a special occasion to collect their diplomas and share, together with the Secoli management and the guests in attendance, the conclusion of an important journey of personal and professional growth.
The highlight of the event was the panel discussion entitled “Evolutions in the fashion industry: technology, sustainability and training”, introduced by Matteo Secoli, President of the Institute, and opened with an official address by Alessia Cappello, Councillor for Economic Development and Labour Policies for the City of Milan, who was keen to deliver a motivational and encouraging speech to the young graduates regarding their future.
Franco Martorella, President & Founder-Technical Director of Pattern S.p.A., then took the floor, and the event was concluded by Giorgio Secoli, Director of Consultancy and Corporate Relations at the Secoli Institute.
It is always invaluable to hear from professionals and key figures in the sector, who are able to offer not only a concrete insight into the job market and its developments, but also accounts of successful entrepreneurial ventures, where innovation, sustainability and training become central elements for the future of the fashion industry. Thank you to all the professionals who took part, and good luck to Secoli’s future fashion makers!

As part of their journey into advanced garment construction, our students explored the world of down through a dedicated learning experience.
They took part in an in-depth session on its origins, treatments, and key characteristics, guided by Andrea Molina, Product Manager at A. Molina & C. S.p.A.
The experience continued with insights from Davide Bossi, Operations Director at Herno who illustrated how down is integrated into the brand’s production process, with a focus on Laminar and its innovative approach to performance outerwear.
The day concluded with a hands-on demonstration led by Herno’s master tailor and prototypist, giving students the opportunity to closely observe construction techniques and discover the secrets behind crafting a high-quality down jacket.
