Civil engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with the design and construction of the artefacts of civil use: civil and industrial constructions, transportation infrastructure, bridges and tunnels, hydro-technical utilities such as dams, aqueducts and sewage systems, structures in seismically areas and others. Civil engineering integrates knowledge of mathematics, physics, project management, architecture and design among others.

Following a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in civil engineering and construction, students will develop technical, organisational, problem solving, math skills, as they will learn how to use design software to plan and design transportation systems, hydraulic systems, and structures in line with industry and government standards; they should be able to determine the economic feasibility of a project and make cost estimates for materials and equipment used in the entire project.

Civil engineering and construction graduates usually find jobs like: building control surveyor, consulting civil engineer, structural engineer, water engineer, engineering geologist, transportation engineer, infrastructure project engineer.

There is hardly any construction organization or enterprise in the Belarus and European Union that does not employ its graduates. Over the years, Belarus has produced more than 35 000 engineers, technologists, and economists. Many of them lead ministries, large enterprises and organizations or conduct high quality research in the field of construction.

-I have never though and wanted to study abroad.
It was possible to study in Mexico and in Eсuador.
But the education in these countries were expensive for my family.
Then my parents proposed me to vary among universities of Russia, Ukraine
or Belarus as the cheapiest varieants.
That`s how I chose Minsk, Belarus.
The first experience was connected with accomadation,
where we were settled. We didn`t know anything,
all told with us in Russian. So it was strange feeling.

After 1 year of pre-university course it was difficult
to study with belorussian students in electricity.
So I was disscusing it with my parents and we decided
to change my speciality to economy.
And little by little I have found friends and all become better.

I like to walk in Minsk park. I like Cheluskintsev Park,
Gorky Park. I like to walk there and read books.
There are lots of squirrels which are very friendly and funny,
you can feed them from your hand.
I always take some tasty foods for them.

And I with my friends like to go to the cinema, esspecially
"Belarus" cinema. Also I like belorussian food, sometimes
I eat in the "Vasilky" cafe.

After finishing study at the university
I`m going to return back to Ecuador.
I will help my parents with their own business.

Specialists of this field are leading specialists in chemical and oil and gas processing. - I have got good experience of living in Minsk for 6 years. I don't regret at all that I have arrived in Belarus. Belarus has given me many great surprises and taugh me everything.

I answer them: "I want to stay here too much, because there are too kind and hospitable people and they always help. Of course, it's my the last year. When I remember all the moments, where my presence was important, I feel nostalgia.

The Republic of Belarus is situated in the centre of Europe. It borders on Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, the Ukrain, Russia and Poland. La. territory ifs much larger then such countries as Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Greece and the number of others. Its present population is about 12 million people. Belarus is a land of vast plains and picturesque hills, thick forests and green meadows, deep blue lakes and flowing rivers. Forests cover 2/5 of Belarus, they are scattered all over the country. The history of Belarus goes back to ancient times beginning with the Polotsk Principality in the 10th century. From the 13th centuiy till the 16th centuiy the territory of present -day Belarus was the core of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in which Belarussian was the official language. It was one of the largest, most powerful and flourishing state*, in Eastern Europe. The 16th century is considered to be the Golden Age of Belarussion history. In this period there was a wide growth of old and the foundation of many new cities and towns. There occurred significant processes in culture and economy of Belarussian people. As Belarus is situated in the centre of Europe many wars took place in its territory. One of the greatest wars was in 1812 when the emperor Napoleon attacked Russia. And Belarussian lands became the arena, of military actions. A great number of Belarussians took part in this war against Napoleon. hi the 20th century alone Belarus has lived through three revolutions and three bloody wars. The Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 is one of the most heroic and tragic periods in the history of the centuiy. For three years the territory of Belarus was occupied by the N**i. The country lost more then 3 million people (every third citizen felt in the fight against fascism), many towns and villages were ruined. Belarus lost more then half of its national wealth-Today Belarus is a developed industrial state. Industry makes up 70% of the Gross National Product. The main industries are engineering, chemical industry, wood-working industry, light and food industries. The major industrial centres in Belarus are Minsk, Gomel, Vitebsk, Mogilev, Soligorsk, Zhodino, Brest and others. Belarussian goods are exported to many countries and known, all over the world. Agriculture of Belarus specializes in milk and meet production, flax, vegetables (especially potatoes) and-fruit (especially apples). The Republic of Belarus has well-developed science and educational system- The Academy of Sciences found in 1929 is one of the largest centres of science in our country.
