🕌 FROM THE MIMES FACULTY 🕌
Will the US secure its non-proliferation strategy by striking on Iranian nuclear sites?
In his latest contribution for the Middle East Institute, Prof Abdolrasool Divsallar, MIMES faculty member, argues why a mix of tactical ambiguities, Iran's response strategy, and wider strategic consequences has made military option irrelevant.
Tehran is aware of unresolved complications ahead of the military option. This makes such threats more of PSYOP rather than a credible threat. The alternative deficit is the core reason that explains why the international community should focus on a political solution through the JCPOA revival.

A military strike on Iran is the worst non-proliferation strategy
Debates on a military solution to Iran’s nuclear program are heavily polarized between those arguing that a threat of war and a preventive non-proliferation military strike can be a solution and those arguing that military action will only accelerate Iran’s nuclear program. The truth is that it ...

"I still well remember the voices of Director Redaelli and Dr Perletta during our first "aperitivo online" warning my colleagues and me on the many challenges in doing an internship abroad during the turbulent times of the covid-19 pandemic. However, hope never abandoned us and the desire for living the Master beyond its didactic dimension has only increased during the intense six-month class period. At the end of the day, my optimism was not misplaced. Now, I am living the dream of a lifetime by being a Visiting Researcher at Research & Advisory, a leading think tank based in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates. I recognise that I am incredibly lucky and I am sincerely grateful for this thrilling opportunity to both Trends that welcomed me in its fresh and dynamic family and ASERI that prepared me at best to successfully navigate through this experience."
