On 19 January 2026 at 10.30, the University of Milan will inaugurate the academic year 2025/2026 with an official ceremony in the Great Hall of the via Festa del Perdono campus.
This year's keynote speaker will be Filippo Grandi, former High Commissioner for Refugees of the United Nations and former student of the University of Milan. He will give a speech titled "Alziamo lo sguardo: riflessioni su quarant’anni di lavoro umanitario" ("Let's look up: reflections on 40 years of humanitarian work").

La Statale ha fatto sentire la propria voce, confermando con incisività il suo ruolo di riferimento formativo, scientifico, civile e culturale.
Grazie a tutte le componenti del nostro Ateneo. Ognuno, nel proprio particolare e indispensabile ambito di attività, contribuisce a costruire l’identità della nostra istituzione: docenti, ricercatori, ricercatrici, personale amministrativo tecnico e bibliotecario, e naturalmente, studenti e studentesse che, con le loro domande e le loro proposte contribuiscono in maniera decisiva a determinare il carattere e lo sviluppo del nostro Ateneo. Auguro a tutte e tutti giornate di gioia, serenità e pace”.
