AROUND MILAN by Noamane Ragane
Hello, this week we have an exhibition that those of you who are sticking around Milan to study should visit in between your work sessions!

The Carla Sozzani gallery is having an exhibition of one of my favorite artists, Nobuyoshi Araki. This exhibition contains more than 80 original works. Most of the photographs shown have been made in the last two years; some works are unpublished, including three compositions of 100 polaroids each and a video-documentary showing Araki at work with a dancer, filmed in Tokyo in July 2015. Araki uses women and kaiju, mythological monsters - like Godzilla which is also present- to communicate.

COFFEE TIME by Victoria Priori - Sofa Cafe
A wonderful tiny bar with a comfortable atmosphere. With its location on the Darsena, it offers delicious breakfasts and especially fantastic cocktails during the happy hour time. The most amazing thing is to enjoy a fantastic cocktail sitting outside and admiring the Milanese sunset. Inside, the atmosphere is very intimate, tables are small, the music plays and flickering light contributes to render everything perfect.

KK Store is a retail store on Viale Sabotino 15, close to Porta Romana. The store looks inconspicuous from the outside, but once you enter it, you will find everything you need. The assortment ranges from stationery, clothing, decoration and toiletries all the way to computing equipment, fake plants, furniture and many more things – the best part is that it is very cheap, hence perfect for a student’s budget - Isabelle Leunig

FOOD IN MILAN by Anastasia Borovikova
If you are a sweet-tooth, visit Casa Infante in Via Torino. Here you can try Rum Baba, a delicious pastry soaked in rum. It is popular in Naples and was brought there by French cooks in 18th century. Oddly enough the name 'baba' means 'old woman' in Slavic languages (similar to 'babushka'), but not to relate to taste. The shape of the pastry resembles skirt's pleats, if you don't see how - use your imagination 😉

What's up? is here to inspire your weekend activities and give you some ideas on where to find beauty. Grab your camera or phone and take a walk around Milan, take some photos and enjoy the city during its transition from fall to winter. Take a break at a small cafe, enjoy some hot chocolate and continue your exploring. Focus on the details ; the things you wouldn't usually notice. The people, the flowers, the stores and so on. For one day focus on the tree, not the forest. Don't hesitate to send us any photos you might take and enjoy your trip down the creativity lane. - Ira Tassouli

A TRIP TO... VERONA by Anastasia Borovikova
Immerse yourself in the Shakespearean world of romance (even though it’s not proved whether he ever visited Verona) to:
Climb up the Torre dei Lamberti on Piazza delle Erbe to enjoy the best bird's-eye views
Visit Ponte Scaligero, whose designer arrived to the inauguration on a horse, ready to flee if the bridge collapsed
Enjoy opera in the 3rd largest Amphitheater in Italy
Fight the crowd of tourists to win your legitimate photo with Juliet (and make her blush) or leave a letter to her
Appreciate Gothic architecture of Scaligeri Tombs
Stroll in Giardino Giusti, the best Renaissance garden in Italy

That’s just a small part of what you can do, be ready explore and enjoy the trip!

MILANESE TREASURES by Ira Tassouli
La Triennale di Milano is a design and art museum in the Parco Sempione in Milan. It's the home to multiple very interesting exhibitions that change very often and therefore offers a big variety in the artists, styles and even the types of exhibitions. You definitely need to catch the children's/toy exhibition as well as the works of Italian Architect Ettore Sottsass works. Unfortunately reduced tickets do not exist so visiting often isn't a particularly cheap hobby but an occasional visit is certainly a good way to spend a Sunday morning.

RESTAURANTS IN MILAN by Isabelle Leunig
Kapuziner is a restaurant on Viale Montenero, which offers German and Austrian food. The inside is very authentic and it almost feels like you are in Germany. The food is good as well, they serve delicious pretzels and German beer.
