È stato depositato in Cassazione il testo di una proposta di legge di iniziativa popolare (https://retepacedisarmo.org/2026/depositata-in-cassazione-la-proposta-di-legge-per-la-difesa-civile-non-armata-e-nonviolenta-parte-la-nuova-raccolta-firme/) per l'istituzione di un Dipartimento della difesa civile, non armata e nonviolenta presso la Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri, con funzioni di indirizzo, coordinamento e attuazione delle politiche in materia. Promossa dalla campagna “Un’altra difesa è possibile”, questa iniziativa rilancia un percorso iniziato nel 2014 e mai concluso, nonostante il precedente sostegno di oltre 50.000 firme. Lo scorso 18 marzo è stata aperta una nuova raccolta firme online sul relativo sito istituzionale (https://firmereferendum.giustizia.it/referendum/open/dettaglio-open/6100008), per portare il testo in Parlamento.

Professors of the MSc in Geophysics at degli Studi di Milano contributed with several presentations to the 6th national conference of AISAM (Italian association of atmospheric science and meteorology) held in Brescia on February 2026.
The topics of the presentation given by our colleagues covered the following topics:
• Atmospheric rivers in the Mediterranean are and extreme meteo-hydrologic events on center-northern Italy (by Silvio Davolio , Alessandro Comunian et al.);
• Assimilation of satellite estimation of precipitation to improve numerical simulation of medicanes (by Lorenzo Silva, a former student of the MSc in Geophysics, and Silvio Davolio );
• A co-spectral budget approach: a new perspective on stratification effects on momentum transfer over tall forested canopies (by Luca Mortarini with Gabriel Katul);
• Variogram analysis of intense convective events (by Mauro Giudici and Alessandro Comunian with Francesco Ferrari);
• A probabilistic approach to risk analysis for the effects of microclimatic conditions on cultural heritage (by Mauro Giudici , Alessandro Comunian et al.);
• Temporal consistency of long-term seasonal precipitation trends in Italy from high resolution regional reanalyses (by Silvio Davolio et al.);
• MORE, a new meteoclimatic convection-permitting dataset for Itay and the Alps: validation and applications in meteorology, climatology and hydrology (by Silvio Davolio et al.).

Il 112° Congresso annuale della Società Italiana di Fisica si svolgerà a Firenze, dal 7 all'11 settembre 2026.
Come consueto, la Sezione 4 sarà dedicata a Geofisica e Fisica dell'atmosfera, ed è stato chiesto di presiederla a me assieme alla collega Roberta Vecchi.
La scadenza per la presentazione degli abstract è il 15 aprile 2026.
