🌿 TANGO-Circular Final Conference – Matera, Italy 🌿

From June 25 to 27, 2025, the final event of the TANGO-Circular project was held in the beautiful city of Matera, Italy 🇮🇹. Organized and hosted by the project coordinator, the University of Basilicata, this event marked the successful conclusion of three years of collaborative efforts to promote the recovery and valorization of agricultural waste through a circular economy approach.

💡 The conference brought together a wide range of experts and stakeholders, and featured a strong scientific programme with insights from renowned organizations.

The sessions explored key issues in sustainability and circularity in agriculture, highlighting cutting-edge technologies and innovative systems for transforming agricultural residues into valuable resources.

A big thank you to all the speakers, partners, and attendees who made this final event such a success! The work continues beyond the project let’s keep pushing for a more sustainable, circular future in agriculture.

🌍 We had the pleasure to present TANGO-Circular at the seminar “Shared Experiences between the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco and the University of Évora”, held in Recife, Brazil, on June 2, 2025.

Our project was introduced by Professor Vasco Fitas da Cruz during this inspiring event, focused on academic cooperation and innovation across borders.

🌿TANGO-Circular was proud to be part of the one-day conference “Circular Economy in the Agricultural Sector” hosted by the Agricultural University of Athens on June 12, 2025!

📍 Organised by the Agricultural Engineering Laboratory of AUA, the event gathered researchers and experts to explore how circular practices can transform the agricultural sector.

💬 TANGO-Circular contributed to the discussion through a presentation on stakeholder training in the circular economy, highlighting the importance of education for sustainable transformation in rural areas.

🌍 TANGO-Circular Roundtable on Circular Economy in Tricase (LE) ♻️

On May 8, 2025, the G. Comi High School auditorium hosted a vibrant roundtable discussing circular economy and sustainable development in the Capo di Leuca area, with a special focus on engaging the youth.

Key speakers included local mayors and regional leaders sharing insights on how circular economy can drive long-term growth and environmental stewardship.

The event concluded with a presentation of the TANGO-Circular project outcomes by coordinator Pietro Picuno.

TANGO-Circular Project presented to the National Association of Agricultural Cooperatives in Greece 🇬🇷🌱

Today, Thursday, May 15, 2025, INASO-PASEGES had the pleasure of presenting the TANGO-Circular Project to the Board of Directors of the National Association of Agricultural Cooperatives in Greece, with the participation of Presidents of Agricultural Cooperatives from across the country.

📚 The training modules and E-Training Platform, as well as the results of the training activities conducted at the Averofeios Agricultural School, were showcased during the session.

🔍 A special emphasis was placed on replicating the training activities in the regions represented, aiming to ensure the wide uptake and exploitation of the project’s results by both farmers and agricultural stakeholders.

📅 The Final Conference in Matera, taking place from June 25th to 27th, was also officially announced.

🌍 SUSTAINABILITY OF THE AGRO-FOOD SECTOR IN SAO TOME AND PRINCIPE: Circular Economy Practices 🌱

On April 25, 2025, the University of Évora proudly presented the TANGO-Circular Project at a workshop held in São Tomé and Príncipe. Organized in collaboration with AJAP and IMVF, this event gathered key stakeholders from the agro-food sector to exchange ideas and best practices.

The workshop was honored by the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure and Natural Resources, as well as representatives from various institutions, highlighting the crucial role of circular economy practices in advancing sustainable agriculture in the country.

🌱♻️ Innovation, Circular Economy and Agricultural Waste Valorisation: TANGO-Circular lands in Tricase!

📍 On 8 May, the Auditorium of Liceo Statale “G. Comi” will host a new TANGO-Circular Meeting, with Capo di Leuca as the focal point for discussions on sustainable rural development.

🤝 The round table will bring together local authorities, institutions, experts, and representatives from the agricultural sector, including:

Today, we highlight GAEA, a project dedicated to empowering women in agriculture by improving access to employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. 🚜👩‍🌾

GAEA aims to:
✅ Map the needs of women in agriculture and develop a holistic training model
✅ Create two curricula and training materials for professionals
✅ Develop an innovative mobile app to support female agripreneurs in skills profiling
✅ Build a digital platform as a one-stop shop for training, networking, and knowledge-sharing
✅ Organize an Innovation Bootcamp with international trainers and participants
