Day 3 - In the mornig, the group visited the Badia farm to learn about how to sustainably grow grapes, olives and wheat. The study trip also focused on food production based on natural processes.
In this farm, which is also a vocational school with cooking and farming courses, we were greeted with a delicious meal prepared by the local students who used the products grown in the farm.
The day ended with "La notte dei licei", a very special event where students showcased their talents and skills to the community.
Another important moment of this day was the teacher's meeting to assess the development of the project.

Day 2 - The day started with the presentations on the topic for this mobility. All teams presented the results of their research about food waste (at home and at local supermakets) and, consequently, proposed solutions to tackle the waste of food at households and supermarkets. It was clear that every single one of us has an important role in food sustainability.
In the afternoon, all teams took part in a study trip to Mothia Island to understand the two thousand year old sustainable food practices done by the Phoenicians.

Day 4 - We headed early to Brussels to visit the European Parliament in the morning and tour the city in the afternoon. We learned so much throughout the day, especially about the European Parliament: the history behind this institution, its importance nowadays, and the work of the members of the EU and their teams. After lunch, the Belgian students did a very good job describing the most iconic attractions of Brussels. Finally, before heading back to Maaseik, students had the opportunity to taste the traditional Belgian waffles. We still feel mouthwatering when we think about them...The day ended with a farewell party, Belgian way.

Day 3- Our creativity was put to the test when all teams were asked to recreate a typical activity of their home countries /regions /towns in order to share later. Then, we were invited to take part in a very special luncheon prepared by the students, where we had the opportunity to taste typical Belgian food. The morning ended with all teams singing and dancing to the sound of typical songs and music from each region. This was so much fun!
In the afternoon, we learned a lot from the presentations prepared by each team about expiration dates.
These engaging and innovative presentations made the teachers really proud of all the work the students put into them.

After classes, we had the chance to be the special guests at the hairdresser's course and we all got our hair done by the students. They did a very good job!
Lunch was also special because we had the typical Belgian "frituur" (Belgian fries and sausages).
All teams had a free afternoon, so each host prepared different activities with their guests.
