We had an amazing time with Jeff, Robin, and their fantastic kids. To stay one step ahead of the Roman summer heat, we started bright and early, exploring the Colosseum, the Palatine Hill, and the Roman Forum while the city was still waking up.

After a light lunch break, it was time to cool off in our cozy art studio, where the real creative adventure began! With clay in our hands and Ancient Rome as our inspiration, everyone sculpted and decorated their own unique masterpiece.

History, creativity, laughter, and unforgettable family memories—all in one perfect Roman day!

Is there a sweeter way to discover the artistic wonders of Rome than by creating a piece of art of your own to treasure forever?

With Lisa and her wonderful family, we spent the morning exploring the breathtaking beauty of St. Peter’s Basilica, standing in awe before its extraordinary mosaics, masterpieces that have inspired visitors for centuries.

After a refreshing break, we slowed down and embraced the joy of creating our own little mosaic. Using the very same ancient techniques—and even mosaic tesserae handcrafted by the same Venetian artisans who continue this centuries-old tradition—we experienced the timeless magic of this art.

More than just a workshop, it was a journey through history, creativity, and shared moments. A truly unforgettable day, filled with beauty, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime.

Thanks to the initiative of a professor from the University of Arkansas in Rome, the Casino Boncompagni welcomed twenty American university students this morning, all spending part of their summer in Rome.

I am truly happy for them and for the incredible experience they had the opportunity to enjoy. They were able to discover a place that is normally closed to the public, learn about a fascinating chapter in the history of the city, admire works by Guercino and Caravaggio, and explore, step by step, the techniques of the great master painter.

The students were enthusiastic, engaged, and full of smiles throughout the visit and the workshop Their curiosity, energy, and appreciation made the experience even more rewarding for me and for everyone involved.

A wonderful multi-generational family chose to include a Roman mosaic workshop at our studio during their time in Rome.

Twenty people, spanning different ages and generations, came together to share a special experience, creating something unique side by side. It required a great deal of preparation, dedication, and hard work from our team, but seeing their smiling faces and the joy they shared at the end made every effort worthwhile.

Moments like these remind us why we love what we do: bringing people together through art, creativity, and the timeless beauty of Roman mosaics.

Every now and then, we at Michelangelo for a Day go and visit the real Michelangelo here in Rome. The artist who has inspired us for so many years.
And every single time, it’s a emotional experience, even at the end of a long day. Spending a few hours surrounded by the silence and magic of the Vatican Museums feels like a special reward, one I’m truly grateful for.
Thank you, Michelangelo, for continuing to inspire us centuries later!

And once again, our most-loved combo: a visit to Castel Sant’Angelo and a fresco painting workshop!

In between, we enjoyed a delicious break with pizza and mortadella. 😋

Thirteen American students got to experience Rome in a truly special way: exploring one of the city’s most iconic landmarks and discovering its fascinating history. We enjoyed the incredible views over the city, and then, after a short 5-minute walk, we arrived at our studio.

There, with lots of enthusiasm and creativity, everyone had the chance to try painting their own fresco and take home a unique memory of their time in Rome
