Marettimo is the westernmost and most mountainous of Sicily’s Egadi Islands — and it has much more than clear water.
I went around the island by boat, passing sea caves, steep limestone cliffs and small coves that are difficult or impossible to reach from land. The coastline is said to have more than 400 caves and rocky inlets, so seeing Marettimo from the water is almost essential.
The island was also strategically important for centuries. Around 150 BC, the Romans established a military post here to watch the sea routes between Rome and North Africa. Its remains, known as the Case Romane, still stand above the village beside a small church rebuilt during the Norman period.
On Punta T***a, there was once a Saracen watchtower. It was later fortified under the Norman king Roger II, and the site eventually became a castle and, for a time, a prison.
Today, Marettimo still has only one small village, while most of the island can be explored only on foot or by boat.

Recently, I spent a few days in Osaka and Kyoto.
I went there to interview an amplifier maker — and what was supposed to be a work trip turned into something much more special.
After the interview, we ended up visiting the home of a true Japanese audiophile.
I met his family, we talked for hours, listened to music, and shared dinner together.
They introduced me to jellyfish — I tried it for the first time, and I actually liked it.
And in Osaka, I finally tried okonomiyaki — a local specialty — and it was unbelievably delicious.
Japan keeps surprising me in the most genuine and unexpected ways.

Saturday recap

Yesterday was one of those rainy days that just don’t stop. I went to the gym, and it was completely empty — honestly, the best kind of workout. Nothing but silence, rain outside, and no distractions.

In the evening, I went to my favorite bar, Martha for the third time. As always, it was great. Too bad they don’t allow photos — they’re pretty strict about it. But that’s okay; I decided to write an article instead. I’ll share it soon and let you know where to read it.

My first week in Japan is done! 🇯🇵
On my very first morning here, I experienced a small earthquake — a gentle but unforgettable welcome. 🌏

I’ve started slowly exploring Japanese food — my stomach is still getting used to it, so I’m taking it easy. 🍜
Every meal feels like a small discovery — from ramen to bento boxes and endless green tea.

I’ve also been to a couple of Kissa Bars, and the experience was incredible. The sound, the atmosphere, the people — everything feels so genuine and alive.
Tried Japanese wh***ey for the first time too — definitely not the last! 🥃

So many discoveries ahead… and I haven’t even used my film camera yet. 📸
Here are a few snapshots from my first week in Japan! 🇯🇵✨

This summer has been full of travels and discoveries!

From London and Birmingham to Coventry, Warwick, Matlock, and the beautiful English Countryside, Nottingham — every place had its own charm and story.

The weather in England was almost perfect 🌦️, and on the days when it wasn’t, there was always the cozy warmth of a pub to hide in 🍻.

It was an inspiring and truly interesting journey, full of people, languages, and little moments that felt like treasures.

💫 And now I’d love to know: How was your summer? Where did it take you?
