INFORMAZIONI GENERALI:
La “Debating Society” del Liceo Machiavelli è un’idea del tutto nuova e innovativa: i ragazzi si possono incontrare due pomeriggi al mese per trattare insieme temi di politica o di attualità in lingua Inglese. Gli scopi della “Debating Society” sono molteplici: permette infatti agli studenti di discutere argomenti interessanti, esprimendo la propria opinione e ascoltando qu
ella dei compagni, di imparare l’Inglese e anche di prepararsi in vista di una possibile partecipazione al Parlamento Europeo Giovani. Svolgimento della riunione
1. Tutti gli interventi devono essere effettuati tramite il presidente.
2. La decisione del presidente sarà definitiva in tutte le questioni riguardanti il funzionamento e l'interpretazione di queste regole in vigore.
3. Tutti i membri della società di casa e di ogni scuola rappresentata nel dibattito, o qualsiasi ospite e / o I sostenitore di queste ultime,
è da essere considerato un membro della societá stessa.
4. i)Gli Interventi devono essere della durata di cinque minuti nel primo turno e di sette minuti nei turni successivi. Interventi troppo longevi saranno penalizzati. ii) Il cronometrista deve avvisare il parlante alla fine del primo minuto dell’intervento e alla fine del quarto (Primo turno) e sesto (Turni successive) e ogni 30 secondi da lí in poi. iii) Il presidente può consigliare ai parlanti di concludere il proprio discorso se superano il limite di tempo permesso.
5. i) Il presidente chiama a parlare prima i sostenitori della mozione e poi gli oppositori secondo l’ordine scritto.
6. In nessun caso un dibattito può aprire con un discorso di opposizione. Points of Information
7. i) Points of Information may be offered between the first and the second bells in each speech, i.e. after the first minute
and before the last minute of each speech. ii) Points of Information may only be offered to the speaker at the podium by a member of the opposite side. iii) The Chair will declare out of order points not made in accordance with i) and ii) above
8. i) A point of information shall consist of brief (15 seconds max), relevant information sought from or offered to the speaker of the floor by another speaker in the debate. ii) A speaker when offering information will stand, raise one hand and clearly state "On a point of Information". iii) The speaker at the podium shall politely either accept or refuse the Point of Information. page 5
9. i) The chair may disallow any Point of Information if he/she considers it to be an abuse of privilege or if the speaker is not being given a chance to proceed with his/her speech.
10. i) A Point of Information may only be offered to the speaker on the floor. It may not be offered to the Chair or any other official. ii) A Point of Order relating to the debates proceedings may be offered by the Chair.
