Alt Studio is designed to submerge young filmmakers and photographers in a different culture pushing their boundaries to become stronger creative individuals. In the summer of 2016, the Alt Studio team, which is comprised of a host of industry professionals, will take their students to Lucca, Italy from June 1 to July 8. The goal is to bring the program to Italy each year, and eventually expand to

other cities, allowing students to feel challenged and inspired by their surroundings. Alt Studio Tuscany is based in Lucca a beautifully preserved First Century Roman city surrounded by stone fortifications. . Due to the restricted clearance of its ancient streets, cars are limited within the walled city. The preferred form of transportation is walking or by bicycle. The old city of Lucca is dotted with basilica form churches, towers, four major piazzas, and the spectacular Anfiteatro Romano, a circular piazza originally built as the center of entertainment outside the Roman town, now the very symbol of Lucca. Far from being a museum town, Lucca has a vibrant civic life generated by shops, restaurants, bars, flea markets, and numerous cultural festivals.
