Dance Italia

Dance Italia Dance Italia is a program for pre-professional and professional dancers. The program is designed for intermediate and advanced level students, ages 18+.

Founded in 2011, Dance Italia has developed into a vibrant community of international students, performers, educators, and choreographers who gather in Italy each summer. The Workshop offers a rigorous dance experience in a supportive atmosphere, fostering a creative exchange of ideas, encouraging exploration, and providing the opportunity to experience a diverse spectrum of dance/movement discipl

ines. Dancers expand their skills through daily classes, workshops, discussions, informal showings and performances. Four, week long Master Class workshops accompany a core technique schedule, each taught by a prominent artist/teacher currently working in the field.

Injury to Insight: The Anatomy of Prevention and Recovery for Dancers

June 28-July 2 10-11:30
Taught by Dr. Chelsey Cioli, US
(DI alumnus)

7.5 Hrs  |  €150

Dancers push their bodies to extraordinary limits — but longevity in dance requires more than artistry and technique. It requires understanding. 4-day immersive workshop designed to deepen your awareness of how the body moves, adapts, and heals. Through anatomy education, movement analysis, and guided discussion, you’ll learn how and why injuries develop, how to prevent them, and how to better read your body’s signals before they become limitations. We’ll explore how alignment, strength, flexibility, and recovery practices work together to support sustainable movement. You’ll also gain insight into how nutrition and daily habits influence tissue health, energy, and healing capacity. On Day 5, the experience concludes with a personalized one-on-one treatment session with Chelsey, where current or ongoing injuries can be assessed and addressed. This session will integrate information learned throughout the workshop and offer individualized strategies to support long-term resilience in your training and performance.

————————————————————————————-
During this 5-day workshop, Davide will share his personally developed acrodance practice, blending soft acrobatics, floorwork, and contemporary dance vocabulary with improvisation, movement research, and creative exploration. The primary goal is to uncover creative and expressive pathways that will unlock greater freedom of movement. Participants will explore tasks grounded in lightness, flow, imagination, body and gaze awareness, sharpness on and off the floor, and the interplay of simplicity and complexity in motion. Limitations will be reframed as opportunities for new possibilities.
