The First IB World School in Liguria ISG is authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

The International School in Genoa was founded in 1966 as a private co-educational day school to serve the needs of the international and national communities in Liguria. ISG offers a complete American and International educational program in the English language for all students from Preschool (age 3) to Grade 12 (age 18) leading to the achievement of both The ISG American Schools Diploma and The International Baccalaureate Diploma. ISG integrates the host country language to ensure that Italian nationals receive an effective bilingual educational program and French and Italian as a second language are offered for all students. The school's purpose is to share the culture of the host nation and other nations to develop an international perspective and to help the student prepare for life as a responsible member of a global society. Classes are taught with an orientation towards a global outlook.

🧪 MYP LEARNING IN ACTION

What’s really in the food we eat?

Our Grade 7 scientists put their learning into action, investigating meat, apples, potatoes, bread and milk for the presence of glucose and starch using Benedict’s solution and iodine solution.

By observing chemical reactions and characteristic colour changes, students explored how science can be used to identify specific nutrients in everyday foods.

A hands-on example of MYP learning: investigating, observing, analysing and making connections between classroom learning and the world around us.

🇬🇧 ISG, learning is also about sharing, connecting, and growing together.

Through our Buddy System, our older students regularly spend time with younger learners, sharing their knowledge through reading, games, and collaborative activities.

Every week, our upper elementary students visit all Early Childhood classes, reading stories, playing together, and creating meaningful moments of learning and connection.

A wonderful opportunity for our younger students to learn from their older buddies and to develop responsibility, empathy, and leadership.

🇮🇹 All’ISG, l’apprendimento è anche condivisione, relazione e crescita insieme.

Attraverso il nostro Buddy System, gli studenti più grandi dedicano regolarmente del tempo ai più piccoli, condividendo conoscenze attraverso letture, giochi e attività collaborative.

Ogni settimana, gli studenti dalle elementari, visitano tutte le classi della scuola dell’infanzia, leggendo storie, giocando insieme e creando momenti significativi di apprendimento e connessione.
