𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮 𝗱𝗶 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗼 – 📍𝑷𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆
Tra gli scorci più affascinanti di 𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐨, il 𝑷𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆 racconta l'anima artigiana della città. Affacciato sul 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗶 𝗠𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶, fin dal Medioevo, vi si concentravano le 𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲: proprio lungo questo tratto d'acqua, gli Statuti comunali consentivano la 𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶.
ℂ𝕦𝕣𝕚𝕠𝕤𝕚𝕥𝕒̀: il Porticato si trova nel 𝐑𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐝𝐚. Secondo una leggenda, il nome del rione deriva dagli 𝑆𝑝𝑎𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑗 - l’antico popolo che aveva occupato la contrada e costruito 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 - e di una spada scolpita su una delle porte medievali della città: emblema legato al quartiere e alla Quintana di Foligno. Ancora oggi, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗮 𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗮 𝗱𝗶 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗼, lungo il Canale, è possibile vedere 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒑𝒆𝒕𝒖𝒂̃, la spada appartenuta al più valoroso 𝗖𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗴𝗹𝗶 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶.

𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗼 – 📍𝑷𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆
Among the most captivating sights in Foligno, the 𝑷𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆 (𝑇𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑠' 𝑃𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑜) reflects the city's artisanal soul. Overlooking the 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗶 𝗠𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶 (𝑀𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝐶𝑎𝑛𝑎𝑙), it was the site where ancient tanneries were concentrated as early as the Middle Ages; indeed, municipal statutes permitted the 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀 along this stretch of water.
𝔸 𝕗𝕦𝕟 𝕗𝕒𝕔𝕥: the portico is located in the 𝐑𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐝𝐚 district. Legend has it that the district's name derives from the 𝑆𝑝𝑎𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑗 — an ancient people who occupied the area and built 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 — and from a sword carved into one of the city's medieval gates, an emblem linked to both the neighborhood and the Foligno Quintana festival. Even today, embedded in a rock facing the portico along the canal, one can see 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒑𝒆𝒕𝒖𝒂̃, the sword that belonged to the bravest 𝗖𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗴𝗹𝗶 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶 (𝐾𝘯𝑖𝘨ℎ𝘵 𝘰𝑓 𝑡𝘩𝑒 𝑆𝘱𝑎𝘵𝑎𝘳𝑖).
