Gonzaga-in-Florence honors the Life and Work of Dr. Patrick Burke
Student, Professor, and Dean: A GIF Legacy

Please join the Gonzaga in Florence Community for a celebration of the legacy of Dr. Patrick Burke, GIF student 1964-65, GIF Professor from 1988-2024, and GIF Dean from 2004-2015, an unparalleled legacy.

The event will take place at Gonzaga in Florence, Via Giorgio La Pira 11/13 on Friday, March 13th, from 4-6pm, with a reception to follow. The event will also be broadcast on the Facebook Gonzaga in Florence Alumni Page or the Gonzaga in Florence Youtube page.

There will be time during the event for brief personal reflections about Dr. Burke's legacy. For those who cannot be present but would like to offer their thoughts, please record your message at the following link. Brief remarks (under 30 seconds) may be played during the event; all remarks will be shared with family, colleagues, and friends. For consideration for the video presentation during the celebration, please record your video by February 20th.

Big News for the New Year. GIF is launching a MA program in Destination Management in Fall 2026. A 9-month immersive learning experience in Florence that prepares students to become innovative, ethical leaders equipped to address the complex social, cultural, environmental, and economic challenges facing global destinations today.
