Last week, our students visited an English classroom at the University of Florence for a language exchange with local Italian University students. Through conversation in English and Italian, the students shared their backgrounds and compared cultural differences between the US and Italy. 🇮🇹🇺🇸

Last week, Rhode Island School of Design students participated in Corri La Vita 2026, an event that promotes fundraising for projects dedicated to breast cancer treatment. The path goes through the historic center of Florence as well as the hills surrounding the city. 🌳🏃‍♀️‍➡️🏃‍♂️‍➡️

On Friday, University of California students hiked to the Santuario Madonna del Sasso in Santa Brigida, lead by Professor Young for their course ‘The Making of Italian Identity through Food.’ During their visit, they discussed the last traces of sharecropping in the area and the tradition of the Bestia della Madonna while tasting recipes from the Middle Ages including schiacciata con l’uva and farinata. 🌞🌳

😶‍🌫️ A very foggy Venice was the destination of our Art & Design students field trip last Friday
Between a scenic view on the canals an the other they had the opportunity to visit the Doge’s Palace to soak in some classical art. 🛶
In the afternoon a visit to offered a glimpse of contemporary art.
Can’t wait to see what comes next! ❤️‍🔥
