Back where it all began! 📍

We are delighted to welcome back FSU Florence alumna Jessica Rapsys, who studied abroad with us in 2016 at our former study center on Via Borgo degli Albizi.
During her first year abroad in Florence, Jessica studied Italian with Professor Luca Bufano and immersed herself in the language and culture that continue to inspire her today.

With family ties to Tuscany through a home in Barga, Italy has remained a special part of Jessica’s life, and she hopes to continue her studies here in the future.

Once a Nole in Florence, Always a Nole in Florence ✨ 🇮🇹

One of the greatest joys of being part of the FSU Florence community is seeing where life takes our students after they leave the city that brought us together.
This week, we were delighted to welcome back a few alumni and former Program Assistants who stopped by campus and posed in front of the iconic Main Study Center sculpture, a place filled with memories for so many of us.

Alex Student, 2021 🌍

Now based in New York as a flight attendant, Alex has turned a passion for travel into a career that allows him to explore the world while connecting people and places every day.

Paris FYA Student, 2020-21 🌍

After living in London and earning a Master's degree in Immigration Studies, Paris graduated in 2026 and is beginning an exciting new chapter back in the United States.

From Florence to destinations around the globe, Chloe continues to pursue her love of travel while building a career in business in New York.

Their journeys are a beautiful reminder that the experiences, friendships, and lessons gained in Florence continue long after graduation. Whether our alumni are crossing oceans, pursuing advanced degrees, launching careers, or discovering new passions, they remain an important part of the FSU Florence family.

No matter how far they travel, a piece of Florence travels with them. ✨

Postcards from Florence
A Taste of Florence, One Neighborhood Shop at a Time📍

Long before Google Maps and Instagram recommendations, FSU Florence students learned to navigate the city through its neighborhood shops.

The smell of freshly baked bread drifting from the fornaio 🍞
The rich aroma of coffee beans at the torrefazione ☕
The familiar faces at the pescheria 🐟
and other historic botteghe that made Santa Croce feel less like a study abroad destination and more like home.

For many alumni, these places were woven into everyday life in Florence. They were the backdrop to morning routines, conversations in Italian, last-minute grocery runs, and the small moments that became some of the most cherished memories of a semester abroad.

As you look through these photos, we hope they bring you back to those cobblestone streets, favorite corners, and daily rituals that made Florence unforgettable.

This Sunday, one of Florence's most beloved traditions returns: Corri La Vita, an event supporting women affected by breast cancer through prevention, care, and research.
