Day 3 of the PROBEN Project challenged students to step beyond their own perspectives and into the role of cultural ambassadors 🌍🤝
Through an immersive negotiation exercise, students represented Italian 🇮🇹 and American 🇺🇸 companies, working across 4 negotiation tables to create new joint ventures. From deciding on governance structures and quotas to choosing a company name and location, every discussion required compromise, empathy, and intercultural understanding.
The first round revealed just how difficult it can be to balance cultural bias, assumptions, and the fear of sacrificing one’s position. Yet, as negotiations progressed, students gradually moved from tension to collaboration, with all 4 groups successfully reaching agreements by the final round. ✨
This exercise highlighted an important lesson in global mobility: intercultural dialogue is not about winning or losing, but about learning how to navigate differences with openness, adaptability, and mutual respect. 🌱🌐
