📢 Innovative Technologies for Surveying Activities in Heritage Contexts
We are pleased to invite you to attend this forthcoming virtual workshop on Innovative Technologies for Surveying Activities in Heritage Contexts to be held 14-15 January 2025. This event is part of the Nahrein Network/UCL-funded project ‘Climate Change and Old Basra Traditional Architecture’ Project activities.
This workshop explores the synergy between cutting-edge digital technologies and heritage preservation focusing on advanced surveying techniques for historic buildings. Participants will engage with innovative tools, including image-based techniques such as photogrammetry and range-based techniques like terrestrial laser scanning. The program highlights the seamless integration of these approaches to enhance documentation, analysis, and preservation strategies, equipping attendees with practical expertise to achieve more precise and effective heritage management.
At the end of the workshop, participants will receive material in the form of a folder containing video lectures, software (30-day trial) and exercises to confront the issues firsthand and try to replicate the methodology with a selected case study historic building in a location of their choice based on the equipment available locally.
