Historical pre-existences and architecture -projects developed as thesis

We are pleased to announce the launch of the XI Edition of the INTERNATIONAL AWARD DOMUS (2026–2027), dedicated to those architectural works that understand conservation as a cultural necessity and have enhanced historical pre-existences while respecting their authenticity as layered palimpsests, through a conscious design culture.

🏛️ STA PER TORNARE IL PREMIO DOMUS RESTAURO E CONSERVAZIONE FASSA BORTOLO!

È in arrivo la XI Edizione – Bando 2026-2027 del Premio Internazionale Domus Restauro e Conservazione Fassa Bortolo – Preesistenze storiche e architettura.

Un nuovo appuntamento dedicato ai progetti elaborati come Tesi, per valorizzare idee, ricerche e percorsi progettuali capaci di interpretare il patrimonio storico attraverso una consapevole cultura della conservazione, del restauro e dell’innovazione.

✨ Torna anche il Premio Speciale – Tecnologie Digitali BIM, dedicato alle tesi che integrano metodologie e strumenti digitali nei processi di conoscenza, documentazione e progettazione del patrimonio architettonico.

💰 Montepremi complessivo: 8.000 €
📣 Il nuovo bando sarà presto online.

Se hai discusso una tesi negli ultimi 5 anni nell’ambito dell’architettura o dell’ingegneria-architettura e il tuo progetto affronta i temi del restauro, della conservazione, del patrimonio storico, dell’architettura e/o delle tecnologie BIM, questa potrebbe essere l’occasione per dare valore e visibilità al tuo lavoro.

The International Award "Domus Restoration and Conservation - Historical pre-existences and architecture was established in 2010 through the collaboration between Fassa Bortolo and the Department of Architecture of the University of Ferrara.

For ten editions, the Prize has promoted a vision of restoration that recognizes conservation as a cultural necessity, celebrating architectural works that enhance historic buildings while respecting their authenticity through thoughtful and conscious design.

Held annually, the Prize alternates between two categories: Completed Works, dedicated to outstanding restoration projects, and Thesis Projects, recognizing the most deserving academic proposals.

An international award that continues to highlight excellence in restoration, fostering a dialogue between history, architecture, and the future.
