WHAT DOES IT ACTUALLY MEAN TO GROW SPIRITUALLY?
Many people imagine spiritual growth as becoming calmer, wiser, or somehow reaching a higher state where life no longer feels difficult.
But real growth is often much quieter - and much more human.
It is learning to pause before reacting when something upsets you. It is noticing old patterns and choosing not to follow them automatically. It is becoming more honest with yourself, even when the truth is uncomfortable.
Spiritual growth does not mean that challenges disappear. It means that your relationship with those challenges begins to change.
The things that once consumed all of your energy may still happen, but they no longer define your entire inner world. You learn to hold joy and uncertainty at the same time. You become less interested in proving yourself and more interested in understanding yourself.
Many traditions teach that growth is not about becoming someone new. It is about uncovering the qualities that have always existed within us - compassion, patience, courage, gratitude and a deeper sense of connection with life.
This is why spiritual practice is called a practice. Not because we are trying to become perfect, but because every day gives us another opportunity to return to what truly matters.
Perhaps spiritual growth is not measured by how much we know, but by how gently, consciously and wholeheartedly we learn to live. 🌿
