Dear followers of the ICMA page.
The musical life at UWC Adriatic has always been shaped by the presence of ICMA - International Community Music Academy. We do have a very active musical life, inspired by the cultural diversity of our students and faculty from more than 80 countries and inspired by a region that is wonderfully rich in music and culture. Our vision is to continue to promote musical performances at the highest level. We are planning to invite renowned national and international artists to perform in our concert series Note di Spezie. At the same time, we want to ensure that musical experiences are useful and relevant to our diverse student community and also provide opportunities for them to be involved. As a result, ICMA will become much more integrated into the life of UWC Adriatic. Subsequently, we feel that it makes more sense to post updates of our musical events on the page of UWC Adriatic as it concerns the whole community. Ultimo appuntamento per la stagione Note di Spezie, questa sera, presso l'Auditorium del Collegio del Mondo Unito dell'Adriatico di Duino, alle 20. Saranno le pianiste Cornelia Herrmann e Anna Gellan, pianoforte a quattro mani, ad accompagnarci in un percorso musicale di grande varietà, ma sotto il comune denominatore della città di Vienna.
Tutti i compositori in programma (Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert e Johann Strauss) sono inoltre accumunati dall'influenza dei lavori di Bach, con il quale verrà aperta la serata. La sua Partita n. 2 sarà poi seguita dalla Sonata op.22 di Beethoven, che fu composta nella capitale austriaca, come la Sinfonia n. 41 in DO maggiore K551, nota come Jupiter, di Mozart, qui proposta in una versione per pianoforte a quattro mani. Per concludere la serata verranno proposte la Marche Caracteristique di Schubert e il Valzer "Rose del Sud" di Strauss, dedicato a Umberto I, Re d’Italia.
L'ingresso è libero.

Si conclude così la stagione di quest'anno, che ha armonizzato generi diversi, accomunati dall'alta qualità delle esecuzioni, con concerti proposti da artisti del territorio e con la valorizzazione del territorio stesso, che ha offerto delle perfette locations.
Colgo l'occasione per ringraziare di cuore tutto lo staff del Collegio del Mondo Unito che mi ha affiancato nell'organizzazione, prima fra tutti l'insostituibile Marta Vuch, e tutti i partners, in primis la Regione Friuli Venezia-Giulia, che ne hanno reso possibile la realizzazione.

Christmas season has finally begun, also musically! The choir of UWC Adriatic performed last night at the Christmas event of Fondazione Pietro Pittini in Trieste. We are grateful for their work and support and were honoured to be invited to perform. (and students had a great time afterwards, with dinner and dancing).
