Once you’ve made your way downstairs for your first cooking class on Monday morning here at Castello di Montalero, you’ll quickly sense that you’re in a part of the castle far removed from the entertaining spaces of the scala nobile upstairs as you don your apron, roll up your sleeves and get stuck into an intense morning of very much hands-on Piedmontese cooking. The dishes you prepare will, of course, depend on the harvest for the particular part of the season you’re here in, but one key ingredient used in these classes remains constant, whichever time of year you decide to join us: plenty of hard-earned fun!
