As a horn player and teacher, Frรธydis Ree Wekre is one of those names that has accompanied me for years โ€” through her playing, her teaching and her ideas about the horn.

And finally, in Norway, I had the chance to meet her.

The timing made it even more special: during our Suzuki Brass training, we had just been discussing an excerpt from one of Frรธydisโ€™ books on horn teaching.

And a few days later, there we were โ€” talking with her about the horn, teaching, young players and, of course, music.

And Greg was there too โ€” eight months old, in my arms, already surrounded by horns, teachers and music. Perhaps the youngest member of our little horn conversation. ๐Ÿ˜Šโค๏ธ

Meeting someone whose work has inspired you for so long is special.

Discovering the person behind it is even more so.

Alla III Suzuki Childrenโ€™s Convention di Napoli, anche i piรน piccoli hanno potuto sperimentare cosa significa sentirsi parte di qualcosa di piรน grande.

Some places never really leave us.

For five years, this city was my home.

Here I played in a wind quintet, performed with the Landestheater orchestra and spent months immersed in Wagnerโ€™s Ring Cycle... carrying a Wagner tuba across town almost every day.

Here I performed Appel Interstellaire by Olivier Messiaen in the church. Looking back, I think the neighbours deserve a special thank you. ๐Ÿ˜Š

And right with the orchestra of this Hochschule, I had the privilege of performing Mahlerโ€™s Symphony No. 9 as principal horn under the baton of the late Sir Jeffrey Tateโ€”an experience I will always carry with me.

The rainy days gave me something precious: time. Time to study, to listen, to make mistakes and to grow.

Coming back today doesnโ€™t make me nostalgic.

It makes me grateful.

Because every rehearsal, every concert and every challenge helped shape not only the musician I am today, but also the teacher I strive to be for my students.

And the journey continues...

Next stop: Oslo. โค๏ธ๐ŸŽถ

Abbiamo visto bambini emozionarsi facendo musica insieme, famiglie vivere ogni nota con entusiasmo e insegnanti condividere idee, esperienze e sorrisi.

Sono momenti che ricordano quanto la musica possa creare relazioni autentiche.

Ed รจ proprio questo che desideriamo portare ogni settimana nei nostri corsi: un luogo in cui i bambini possano sentirsi accolti, le famiglie coinvolte e la musica diventi unโ€™esperienza da vivere insieme.
