UPCOMING COURSE

Marc Leuthold Marc Leuthold is revealing the patterns hidden within marbled clay using the simple, often overlooked technique of carving with a kitchen knife.

Sounds easy, but in truly skilled hands, the movements of cutting away leather-hard clay can create a great complexity of natural forms. By removing clay, dramatic patterns emerge creating a beautiful play of lights and shadows.

Marc is generously sharing his experience during his course "Marbled and textured containers" at La Meridiana this autumn and we have a couple of available spots!

Date: September 13 – 19 2026
Level: For all

LIFE AT LA MERIDIANA

It's all about clay! But it is also about slowing down, meeting other people and exchanging ideas over a cup of coffee. Or simply just stretching out after a long day at the wheel and admiring the beauty of nature around us.

Big thanks to Jam Cafè for providing us the most delicious fresh pastries week after week for our coffee breaks!

ARTIST HIGHLIGHT

We are thrilled to welcome Juz Kitson JUZ KITSON to La Meridiana in a few week`s time to teach her course “Into a Ceramic World of Wonder” (The workshop is fully booked).

Juz Kitson’s ceramic works are resplendent and dense, complex and large-scale. Central to her art is the concept of ritual and transformation. Her experiences of living and travelling across the world, walking through the dense jungles of Indonesia and living in the Ancient porcelain city of Jingdezhen are infused within her pieces. Kitson’s contemporary practice has a flair for the occult; drawing on her observations of shamans and forgotten temples. She persistently questions the nature of the self, the role of the unconscious, and the changing states that we might experience in a dream or a trance.
