This painted façade belonged to a Roman taberna—an ancient shop, most likely a wine merchant's. The standing figure and the amphorae below served as a form of advertising, letting customers know what was sold inside. The Latin inscriptions probably listed different wines, their quantities, or prices. Nearly 2,000 years ago, this was the Roman equivalent of a storefront sign, showing that commerce and marketing were already an essential part of daily life in Herculaneum.

Today we explored one of Italy’s most beautiful destinations, surrounded by stunning views, turquoise waters, colourful streets, and unforgettable scenery. From the excitement of discovering the island to simply enjoying the Mediterranean atmosphere, every moment was special.
