I often get asked how long it took to create the print you see in this video, which shows a quick version of the process. The answer? One full month of daily work!
It all starts with grinding the stone—a task that takes several hours. Next comes the drawing, which took me several days to complete. After that, the stone was etched, a process that takes about a day. Finally, the printing begins, but it’s far from a one-day job. Each print requires the stone to be inked multiple times to achieve the perfect level of darkness.
It’s a demanding and time-intensive process, but seeing the final result makes it all worthwhile!

The World's Weather Diary is an artistic project created by Annalisa Mercuri to record the weather conditions across the world. The idea is very simple: people interested in collaborating have to register by 31st of July in order to receive a kit to perform a simple experiment on 22nd of September 2024. The idea is to record weather conditions across the world using an ice cube and a cyanotype postcard, which will have to be sent back to Annalisa. All the postcards will show different marks due to the melting of the ice cube. The aim is to reflect on climate change and how it is affecting everyone on the planet.
