🚀 Bridging the gap between theory and practice: Unicas students visit E-Lectra.

On Wednesday, May 20th, Master’s students in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio had the opportunity to visit the E-Lectra facilities in the industrial site of Cassino.

This visit was a natural and powerful extension of the classroom: our students were able to get in touch with the practical application of the core concepts covered in the Hybrid and Electric Vehicles course, led by Prof. Francesco Porpora. Seeing cutting-edge electrification technologies, battery systems and advanced engineering processes firsthand brought their academic studies to life.

Experiencing these innovations in the real world is invaluable for understanding the future of sustainable mobility.

A huge thank you to Prof. Porpora for organizing and coordinating this event, and to the entire team at E-Lectra for welcoming our future engineers and sharing their industry expertise! ⚙️⚡

From the classroom to the factory floor!

Last Friday (15/05), our Manufacturing Technologies students stepped out of the lecture hall and into the heart of production at Comas Srl in Cassino with professor Andrea Russo!

It was an amazing day of hands-on learning. Our international students finally saw the exact mechanical manufacturing technologies they've been studying in books operating in real-time. From high-precision machining and heavy-duty forming to advanced welding techniques, they experienced it all.

The energy was incredible—everyone was super engaged, enthusiastic, and full of questions!

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to join an international summer school where you can not only expand your knowledge but also make new friends and explore different cultures? We’ve got great news — such an opportunity is happening this year in Riga!
We are offering 1 vacant spot for participation in an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) focused on Structural Health Monitoring — that is, assessing the technical condition of buildings and bridges. Students and lecturers from several countries will take part. Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate for 3 ECTS.

📅 Programme dates:
Virtual part: June 30 – July 4, 2025 (lectures and group work preparation)
Physical part in Riga: September 8 – 12, 2025 (lectures, hands-on activities, group work, excursions, conference participation, and project presentation)
