Most people visit Italy. Very few actually taste it. 🍷
Ask the average traveller about Italian food and w**e, and you’ll get the classics: Chianti, Prosecco, pizza, and carbonara. Brilliant icons, without doubt. But they barely scratch the surface of what this incredible country really offers.
I’m British by birth, but Italy has become the place I live, breathe, and study. And if there is one thing this land has taught me, it’s that the true soul of Italian living doesn’t sit inside tourist-trap trattorias or high-street w**e aisles.
It lives in:
🌿 Historic cellars where w**emakers speak of their vines like old friends
🍇 Ancient, indigenous grape varieties rarely found on UK supermarket shelves
🍝 Unwritten food rituals that aren’t about snobbery, but heritage, balance, and seasons
🌋 The raw, volcanic terroir of the South that transforms every single glass
As a linguist with an obsession for gastronomy, w**e, and culture in my DNA, I’m opening up my personal field notes. We’re going far beyond the guidebooks - starting with the wild, sun-drenched vineyards of Campania and travelling up the boot.
No tourist clichés. Just authentic terroir, local tables, and the stories behind them.
Pull up a chair. 🪑
