🎂 ANOTHER TRIP AROUND THE SUN… WITH A UKULELE ON MY BACK! 🌍🎶

August 22 is my birthday, and this year I’ll be celebrating in Munich — naturally, in my favorite way: making music with friends! ❤️🎶

A year ago, I was in Ireland: first playing in a pub in Dublin, and then at the Ukulele Hooley – Ireland’s International Ukulele Festival in Dún Laoghaire.

There I also had the wonderful opportunity to play my “Sammy the Seal” with the fantastic Ukulele Tuesday, raising funds for Seal Rescue Ireland. 🦭💙

And since that birthday… so much has happened.

My ukulele has taken me all around Italy and much, much further: Monopolele – Mediterranean Ukulele Festival, the 4th “Intorno all’Ukulele” Meeting, Seoul International Aloha Ukulele Festival in South Korea, Hangzhou International Ukulele Festival in China, Vienna Ukulele Nights in Austria, Festival Brasileiro de Ukulele in Brazil, Cały Poznań Ukulele Festival in Poland… 🌍🛫🪕

But when I think about it, the best part isn’t being able to say, “I’ve been here, I played there.”

IT’S THE PEOPLE!

Over this past year I’ve seen wonderful places, listened to and played with extraordinary musicians, discovered different cultures, shared stages, songs, workshops, journeys, meals, laughter and countless moments I could never have planned.

Most of all, I’ve met wonderful people — some for just a few hours, others who have become precious friends — people I’ll carry with me long after the miles have faded.

So, as my birthday approaches, more than anything I feel the need to say one very simple word:

THANK YOU! ❤️

Thank you to everyone who invited me to play.
To everyone who came to listen.
To everyone who organized festivals and concerts.
To everyone who played with me.
To everyone who hosted me, helped me, encouraged me, or shared a stage, a beer, a dinner, a conversation or a song with me.

And thank you to everyone who follows me from afar, watches a video, leaves a message, shares my music, or simply keeps being there.

I’m happy and proud of the road I’ve travelled, but above all I’m deeply grateful for the people I’ve met along the way.

And the journey continues… 🪕🌍

🎂 UN ALTRO GIRO INTORNO AL SOLE… CON UN UKULELE IN SPALLA! 🌍🎶

Il 22 agosto sarà il mio compleanno e quest’anno lo festeggerò a Monaco di Baviera, naturalmente nel modo che preferisco: suonando insieme ad amici! ❤️🎶

Un anno fa, invece, per il mio compleanno ero in Irlanda: prima a suonare in un pub di Dublino e poi all’Ukulele Hooley – Ireland’s International Ukulele Festival di Dún Laoghaire.

Lì ho avuto anche la bellissima occasione di suonare la mia “Sammy the Seal” insieme ai fantastici Ukulele Tuesday, raccogliendo fondi per Seal Rescue Ireland. 🦭💙

Da quel compleanno a questo ne sono successe davvero tante.

Il mio ukulele mi ha portato in giro per l’Italia e molto, molto più lontano: il Monopolele – Mediterranean Ukulele Festival, il 4° Meeting di “Intorno all’Ukulele”, il Seoul International Aloha Ukulele Festival in Corea del Sud, l’Hangzhou International Ukulele Festival in Cina, le Vienna Ukulele Nights in Austria, il Festival Brasileiro de Ukulele in Brasile, il Cały Poznań Ukulele Festival in Polonia… 🌍🛫🪕

Quando ci penso, però, la cosa più bella non è poter dire “sono stato qui, ho suonato là”.

SONO LE PERSONE!

In quest'anno ho visto luoghi meravigliosi, ascoltato e suonato con musicisti straordinari, scoperto culture diverse, condiviso palchi, canzoni, workshop, viaggi, tavolate, risate e momenti che non avevo programmato.

E soprattutto ho incontrato persone splendide, alcune per poche ore, altre diventate amicizie preziose, che porterò con me ben oltre i chilometri percorsi.

Per questo, avvicinandomi al mio compleanno, sento soprattutto il bisogno di dire una parola molto semplice:

GRAZIE! ❤️

Grazie a chi mi ha invitato a suonare.
A chi è venuto ad ascoltarmi.
A chi ha organizzato festival e concerti.
A chi ha suonato con me.
A chi mi ha ospitato, aiutato, incoraggiato, condiviso un palco, una birra, una cena, una chiacchierata o una canzone.

E grazie anche a chi mi segue da lontano, guarda un video, lascia un messaggio, condivide la mia musica o semplicemente continua a esserci.

Sono felice e orgoglioso della strada fatta, ma sono soprattutto profondamente riconoscente per le persone che ho incontrato lungo quella strada.

E il viaggio continua… 🪕🌍
