🧠 For me, the ascent has always been the most difficult part of a dive as I’ve never been able to manage well the diaphragmatic contractions and the urge to breathe.
😵 Whatever the depth, as soon as I felt the first signs of discomfort, panic rose inside me caused by the fear of not reaching the surface, followed by a race to resurface.
💎 After years of diving I understood that the problem was precisely that, the projection on the surface.
💥 Obviously I’m still working on it, but I’ve learned to manage the urge to breathe by slowing down when instinct tells me to go faster. But above all to experience each dive one meter at a time...
☮️ The descent, however, is a very different experience which I will tell you about in my next post
