When I was growing up, my teachers usually called on the “smartest” kids in the class to answer their questions or participate in discussions. Even at a really young age I had figured out that that was the easy way out. If the kids answered correctly, there was no need to explain everything all over again.
Yet that’s not what teaching is all about, is it?
🍎 Learning should not be for a select few.
🍎 Learning should be for everyone.
🍎 Watch my latest video to find out how you CAN make it accessible for all of your EFL students.

As teachers we know that a nurturing and safe environment is key to learning. Building community among your group and making your children feel at ease often requires lots of conversations. For those of us teaching a second language to young children, this is not always a simple task. My latest YouTube video looks at some techniques that will help build community in your classroom regardless of the language you are speaking. It's now also on my podcast if you prefer that platform. Both links are in the comments below.

Making mistakes is part of the learning process. I certainly have made many when I first started my career as an English as a foreign language teacher to young children.
My most recent YouTube video talks about what I believe to be the five most common mistakes that teachers make. If you're an ESL or EFL teacher, you might find you are making one or more yourself.
Do check it out and let me know!
The video is now also a podcast so if you're more into that, you can always find me on your favourite podcast platform.
You'll find both the video and podcast links in the comments below. Enjoy!

I don't teach my young English is Fun! students to read and write until they are about 8 or 9 years old.
I know that may sound controversial to many ESL teachers but in my experience I've found that it can actually have negative effects on learning to read and write in general.
Sounds strange, I know, so watch my latest YouTube video to find out why I feel this way and if you're more of a podcast person, you can also find it on your favourite platform. Links to both are in the comments below.

Planning out a lesson is vital when teaching ESL to young children but perhaps more important are the 4 pillars upon which that lesson must rest. My latest podcast is really short but to the point. (I know you've got a lot going on!) I hope it's helpful! The podcast was created from a video so you'll find links to both in the comments below.
