AIKIDO IS COMING TO ABERFELDY

Takemusu Aikido Association Scotland is opening a new dojo at Breadalbane Community Campus.

Regular practice begins on Monday, 14 September and will take place twice a week.

We welcome children and young people aged 5–14, as well as grown ups aged 14+.

Aikido training helps developing focus, confidence, coordination, balance, discipline and body awareness, while it is also building physical and mental resilience.

Complete beginners are very welcome, and the first class is free of charge.

Whether you are looking for a martial art for your child, want to return to training, or simply want to try something new, we would be very happy to welcome you to the dojo.

L’Aikidō non nasce per appartenere a un popolo ma come risposta a un’umanità segnata da separazione, da paura e da conflitto.
Morihei Ueshiba diceva che l’Aikido non è per il Giappone, ma per il mondo.
In questo tempo presente, segnato da guerre e smarrimento spirituale, l’Aikidō ricorda una verità essenziale: il vero nemico non è l’altro, ma la frattura che ci fa percepire l’altro come nemico.
Quando ci separiamo interiormente, il conflitto diventa inevitabile.
L’Aikidō sul tatami come nella vita, insegna a stare nel centro, a non rispondere alla violenza con la violenza, ma con lucidità e compassione attiva.
L’Aikido ci insegna che dietro ogni gesto distruttivo c’è un’energia spezzata che chiede di essere ricondotta all’armonia.
Per questo l’Aikidō non distrugge, non umilia, non annienta, non separa vincitori e vinti, ma al contrario ricompone ciò che è diviso, nel corpo, nella relazione e nello spazio tra gli esseri.
In un mondo che sembra sgretolarsi, l’Aikidō è un atto silenzioso che dice, senza parole: è ancora possibile vivere insieme in armonia senza annientarsi. #🈴

LISTENING TO SENSEI

The lessons with Sensei continued far beyond the tatami. Every single moment of the day was an opportunity to learn from him and receive his teachings.

Whether during keiko, over a meal, on a journey, or simply sitting together and listening to him speak, there was always something to absorb. His teaching was not confined to techniques or to the hours spent in the dojo: it was present in his words, his gestures, his stories, and in the way he approached everyday life.

These moments reminded us that being a student of Sensei meant much more than practicing Aikido. The whole day was part of the training, and life itself became an extension of the dojo.

Thank you forever Sensei.

We are delighted to announce that registration is now open for the International Aikido Koshukai with Francesco Corallini Shihan, taking place in Forest Row, East Sussex, UK, on 31 October & 1 November 2026.

Practitioners from all organisations are warmly welcome. We hope that fellow aikidoka from across the UK and overseas will be able to join us for a weekend of traditional Takemusu Aikido practice, learning and friendship.
