Settimane ricche di impegno, nuove competenze e contatti preziosi con il mondo del lavoro locale. Un percorso che li ha fatti crescere, sia dal punto di vista professionale che umano. 💼

Blockchain credentials: secure, verifiable, recognised What changes when a qualification can't be forged

A paper certificate can be lost, damaged, or falsified. It's also harder to verify internationally, where receiving institutions may not recognise the awarding body. 🔐

MeDCare uses a blockchain-based micro-credential system to certify both trainers and students. Each credential takes the form of a secure digital badge — immutable and verifiable in real time by any employer or academic institution, anywhere in the world.

The framework is the Council of the EU Recommendation on micro-credentials of May 2022, which establishes common standards for the recognition of partial qualifications across Europe. MeDCare doesn't propose this as a theoretical model — it implements it as a working system. ⛓️

For a Tunisian biomedical technician seeking to work or study in Europe, holding a blockchain-verified credential isn't a technical footnote. It's a concrete advantage.

When people think of Erasmus+, the most familiar image is university students on exchange between European capitals. But the programme reaches far wider. The Capacity Building in VET strand funds projects involving third countries, with the aim of strengthening vocational education and training systems where the need is greatest.

🌍 SHE-GROWS is precisely that. A project bringing together Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic and Tunisia around a concrete intervention: training 60 rural women in hydroponic agriculture and cooperative entrepreneurship in the regions of Béja and Jendouba. Not aid, but the shared building of skills.

🇹🇳 Tunisia is part of the European Union's Southern Neighbourhood, a priority area for cooperation. SHE-GROWS sits within this framework through a coherent approach: alignment with the FAO 2050 Water Strategy, with the European Digital Transformation Strategy 2025, with the EU's Global Gateway. Not statements of principle, but European instruments woven into the project's daily work, from EQF to ESCO, from Europass to EQAVET.

🔑 What makes this project significant within the Erasmus+ landscape is its replicability. The curriculum, the VET inclusion guidelines, the cooperative model, the Training of Trainers programme: all are transferable tools, applicable to other rural settings in Tunisia and across the wider Neighbourhood.

🧭 SHE-GROWS shows that international cooperation works when it starts from documented needs, builds solutions with the people who will use them and leaves behind structures that endure. Not a theoretical model, but a concrete practice that speaks from the Mediterranean to Europe, and back again.

What actually happens in classrooms and workshops when gender comes into play? To find out, BGB-VET (Breaking Gender Bias in VET) didn't commission outside consultants. It asked the teachers, trainers and managers who run vocational education in six countries to describe their own systems from the inside.

The result is "Country Reports and Policy Reviews: Practitioners Perspectives", written by Aidan Kenny (Teachers' Union of Ireland) and dated May 2026. Six national reports, six policy reviews, one comparative analysis. 🇮🇪 🇫🇮 🇮🇹 🇧🇬 🇸🇪 🇹🇷

It makes no claim to be a full survey of Europe's VET systems, and says so plainly. What it offers instead is more useful: the view from the people who keep those systems running. It sets the evidence base for the project's two strands, Gender Equality Plans in VET institutions and an AI-supported simulation platform for teacher training.

🌱 Beyond the project: the sustainability that remains
What happens when the funding ends

Thirty-six months pass. European funding runs out. Every serious project must ask from the start: what will remain? SHE-GROWS has built the answer into its own architecture, as a thread running throughout.

🏢 The cooperative remains. A real enterprise managed by participants, with market access and support from Association Femme Rurale Jendouba and APIA.

📖 The resources remain. Training materials, reports and data become open educational resources (OER) and open-source datasets, free to use, adapt and replicate.

🏫 The institutional capacity remains. Elemtiez gains upgraded infrastructure, 18 qualified trainers and a certified curriculum; ATFP will work towards integrating the materials into the national VET framework.

🔄 The model remains. Inclusion guidelines, gender-sensitive curriculum and Training of Trainers programme: all replicable and transferable, in Tunisia and beyond.

🤝 The network remains. Every partner is committed to pursuing funding to sustain and expand activities beyond the project.

🌱 SHE-GROWS is an Erasmus+ Capacity Building project designed to outlast its own funding. Because sustainability is not a paragraph in the application form: it is the point of the work.

Picture a capable teacher. At ease with digital tools and platforms, using them in class without a second thought. Genuinely concerned about the environment, talking to students about climate and sustainability. Two things they do well. And two things they almost always keep apart.

This is the clearest finding to come out of DigiSET (the Digitally Sustainable European Teacher Academy), an Erasmus+ project that brings together 16 organisations from 8 European countries to rethink how teachers are trained. Looking at policies and training systems country by country, the same pattern shows up everywhere: digital competence and sustainability grow on parallel tracks and rarely meet. Almost nowhere is there a single profile that holds them together, one that also covers the critical use of artificial intelligence, its environmental cost and inclusive teaching.

That is the whole point of the project. DigiSET doesn't add yet another item to a teacher's to-do list. It attempts something simpler and harder: connecting skills that already exist, but separately, into one recognised, certified pathway. By 2028, 700 European teachers will have followed it.

BGB-VET, “Breaking Gender Bias in VET”, is an Erasmus+ project with nine partners from six European countries 🇮🇪 🇫🇮 🇮🇹 🇧🇬 🇸🇪 🇹🇷 working on gender equality in vocational education through ethical AI and Gender Equality Plans.

Over the coming months, the comparative research phase will begin across the six partner countries, with questionnaires for teachers, students and administrative staff. This will be followed by the design of virtual scenarios, teacher training and platform development. The project will conclude in November 2028 with a European conference open to all.
