One week ago we wrapped up 6 incredible weeks of the 2026 Summer Intensives! 🎭💃🎬

Our final sharing of the summer came from Screen Combat, where students brought everything they’d been working on from rehearsal room to screen.

The final 3 days of the course, students put their training into practice by shooting original micro-short films, each centered around a fight, using combat as part of the storytelling. With choreography and stunt coordination by Ronin Traynor and Kate Richey🐛 from B.A.S.S.C. , written and directed by Bob Banday Shryock , and Genesis & T•M• on camera & post-production.

Students growth over these 2 weeks was seriously impressive, from learning the fundamentals of fighting for camera and earning their certifications in Week 5, to applying those skills to scenes & production environments in Week 6. At the final sharing, we watched the micro-shorts and celebrated everything this group accomplished.

Huge congratulations to our Screen Combat students, and to all of the students and instructors who made this year’s Summer Intensives such an unforgettable six weeks! Thank you for the work, the generosity, the curiosity, the sweat, and the memories. ❤️

Next summer is not so far away! Whether it’s your first Intensive or your next one, we hope to see you in 2027. ☀️

Congratulations to our Screen Combat students! 🙌

At the end of Week 5 of the 2026 Summer Intensives, every student passed the Foundations of Film Fighting certification exam from B.A.S.S.C. and half the class earned a pass with distinction. A huge thank you to Taylor Chadwell Ronin Traynor and Kate Richey🐛 for the excellent instruction & preparation.

Throughout the week, students trained in the fundamentals of unarmed screen combat, learning technique, camera awareness, on-set protocols, and how to tell compelling stories through physical action, part of our larger commitment here at the Accademia to exploring physical storytelling, both onstage and onscreen.

Now it’s on to Week 6! Sudents will put what they’ve learned into practice by filming original scenes and exploring even more advanced techniques. 🎬🥊

Last Friday, our Dance Intensive students closed out the Core 4 Weeks of the 2026 Summer Intensives with an original piece choreographed by Giada Palmisano .

Giada encouraged students to focus on qualities of movement rather than shapes, and popping vs flow.

Congratulations to our incredible Dance students! Thank you for your vulnerability, embracing every challenge and thriving as an ensemble. And thank you Giada Palmisano for sharing your artistry and inspiring our students to push beyond their comfort zones.

Last week, our Screenwriting for Actors students celebrated the close of the Core 4 Weeks of the 2026 Summer Intensives by sharing 9 original, character-driven screenplays, each conceived, written, and brought to life in a table reading with the writer in the leading role. 🎬

At the Accademia, we believe performers are not only interpreters of stories, but creators of stories and storytellers themselves. This course prepares actors to write from their own artistic voice, creating stories & roles that only they could imagine and inhabit.

The screenplays revealed bold & distinct perspectives, and the power of artists creating work from the inside out.

Thank you to our students for your imagination and fearless creativity, and to Bob Banday Shryock for fostering curiosity, craft, and the confidence to tell original stories!! 🤗

As Week 5 continues, we’re celebrating the stories that have already found their voice, and those still waiting to be told. Can’t wait to share highlights from our Dance Intensive presentation! ✨

Our Commedia dell’Arte students marked the close of the Core 4 Weeks of the 2026 Summer Intensives with an original performance that traversed the grounds of the Villa, bringing iconic characters to life through mask, movement, and ensemble storytelling.

Thank you to our students for embracing the spirit of Commedia with commitment and play! Thank you, Chiara D'Anna , for your inspiration and expert guidance. 🙌

We’re so proud of everything the students from , , and accomplished over the past few weeks, from training, creating, & performing to exploring Italy. We already miss their presence at the villa and can’t believe how quickly the time has flown by.

Thank you to Florence Dance Center for welcoming our students and providing the opportunity to observe Kinesis Contemporary Dance Company in rehearsal. It was a highlight of an unforgettable summer.
